Any or almost all the companies will have their activities classified as either Project, Process or a task. A project is an activity which has a definite start date and a definite end date and which is not repetitive in nature. A process is a routine activity which will be carried out in definite intervals and is repetitive in nature. A task is an activity which can be completed in a short duration. An activity is called a process since the execution procedures are all set and formalized hence process management is not too tough. Whereas a project Management requires a lot of skill. There are various softwares available in Market for project Management. Like for example Microsoft Office project Management Software, Zoho project Management software. All these softwares will have an open discussion forum in which the porject members can post their views. The project will first have to be broken down into various tasks which should be inter-linked with each other. Specific time frame for each task or activity should be set and it should be assigned to the right person in the department. The person in charge of executing the task has to execute the same and then update the progress in the activity progress sheet. Like wise the sequence of tasks has to be executed to get the project completed. Project Management software will be useful to judge the execution capability of individuals. Their time taken to complete the activity and their progress ratio. Hence project management is very important in organizations for effective monitoring and controlling.
