To calculate the current through the 2k ohm resistor using superposition theorem, one would: 1) isolate the current source by short circuiting all voltage sources and open circuiting the current source, calculate the current (I1) through the resistor from that isolated source; 2) repeat for each other source individually to calculate I2, I3, I4; 3) add all the individually calculated currents to find the total current (I) through the resistor.
