JumpStart Greece is a crowdfunding platform that aims to fund Greek startups, communities, artists and athletes in order to help restart the Greek economy. It was created to address funding gaps faced by Greek entrepreneurs and connect them with donors. The platform focuses on funding projects that will create new jobs in Greece and has innovations like supervised projects and tracking job creation. It forecasts rapid growth in members and funded projects between 2016-2019, with a goal of funding over 3,000 projects and creating 10,000 new jobs.

2. What is Crowdfunding?
• Crowdfunding is a method for obtaining project funding, by soliciting contributions
from a large group of people, and especially from an online community.
• There are three types of Crowdfunding:
Donation based
Equity based
Loan based
• Greek Laws and Crowdfunding:
There is no Law in Greece at the present moment that governs crowdfunding services.
The only law that oversees the tax implications and responsibilities which stem from a
Donation, was passed in 1931.
According to this law, the donation recipient (provided he is not an NGO or an NPO) is
obligated to pay a 40% tax on the net amount he receives as a donation.

JumpStart Greece has introduced two major innovations in the crowd funding
industry innovations
It is the project creator’s choice to select if his project will or
will not be supervised.
A Project Supervision provides additional credibility to the
project.
Supervisors are usually university professors, lawyers,
accountants, doctors, professional artists, publishers and any
professional.
The Supervisor will monitor that the project created the number
of jobs it had planed and was executed according to the plan.

the project creator, as well as JumpStart Greece web page visitors in Greece or
anywhere in the world that were convinced by the project creator’s project
