Basics from the Organizational Standpoint Values Organizational values often include such traditional virtues as trust, loyalty and commitment, honesty and respect for one another, and avoiding conflicts of interest.  Values may also include newer elements such as innovation, teamwork, customer focus and continuous improvement.  Principles Guiding principles set standards for the organization that go beyond the laws and may affect employees on a more personal level.
How to ‘BE’ on a job Be enthusiastic about your job and the people you work with. Focus on the positives instead of the negatives Operate with initiative: think about what needs to be done and do it, don’t wait for someone to tell you Have good character traits: employers look for and desire people of character Accept personal responsibility
Character traits to possess Credible Trustworthy Useful Optimistic Flexible Cooperative Responsible Accountable A Team Player
Remember your Objectives and Goals Ultimately, obtaining and keeping a particular job depends on the type of worker you are.  Although, we may not be the type of workers we hope to be – the focus is on constant and never ending improvement.
