2. Spacing Out
This is when someone is talking and the person
you are talking to is ignoring you and in their own
thoughts.
3. Pretend Listening
This is when you aren’t paying attention but you make the
speaker think you are listening by saying comments such
as “ yeah”,” cool”, and “sounds great”.
5. Word Listening
This is when we only listen to the words and not
the tone, feelings, and body language.
6. Self-centered Listening
This is when you see everything from our point of view.
Judging-You make judgments in your head while someone
is talking to you.
Advising-You give advice from your experience and they
tell you how to handle it.
Probing- You ask a lot of questions to try to dig up their
emotions for them to tell you more.
