I am pleased to recommend Ms. Alexandra Sandu for a volunteer teaching position with WorldTeach. For the past
year she has served in my organization - SOLS 24/7 TIMOR LESTE as an international volunteer mainly teaching
English and Portuguese.
Alexandra is a bright and energetic individual who understands the importance of education and social service. She
managed her classes well and fulfilled her responsibility as a teacher who did her best to share her knowledge and
guide students. Many times, she went beyond her call of duty to personally get to know her students, their background
and culture. This helped to improve the quality of her teaching. I am confident that she will continue to provide the best
learning experience for her students.
Alexandra is comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds. She was able to work in an international
environment of students and volunteers who come from different cultures. She was happy to interact and work along-
side with them. She was also willing to adapt to the life in East Timor. Even though the physical conditions were simple
and basic, this did not stop her from doing service to the poor.
