9 Mar 2014: "God's Creation of the Universe and Man" (Genesis 1:1)
9 Nov 2014: "Fight the Good Fight" (1 Tim 1:1-19)
1.
2. 1 Tim 1: 1-3
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of
God our Saviour and of Christ Jesus our hope,
2 To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy
and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our
Lord.
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay
there in Ephesus so that you may command certain
people not to teach false doctrines any longer.
3. 1 Tim 1:12-15
12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me
strength, that He considered me trustworthy,
appointing me to His service.
13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a
persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy
because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me
abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in
Christ Jesus.
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full
acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to
save sinners - of whom I am the worst.
4. 1 Tim 1:16-19
16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in
me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His
immense patience as an example for those who would
believe in him and receive eternal life.
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in
keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so
that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,
19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which
some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck
with regard to the faith.
5. 1 Tim 1:2 To Timothy my true son in the
faith, ………
3 As I urged you when I went into
Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus …
2 Tim 1:7 “God has not given you a spirit of
fear (timidity) but of power, love and of a
sound mind”
1 Tim 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on
you because you are young, but set an example
for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in
faith and in purity”

10. 2 Tim 3: 1-5 “But mark this: There will
be terrible times in the last days. 2 People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of
money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful,
unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal,
not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous,
rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather
than lovers of God - 5 having a form of
godliness but denying its power. Have
nothing to do with such people.”
11. Ephesians 5:12-14 “It is shameful even to mention
what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything
exposed by the light becomes visible—and
everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is
why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you”
16 - Make good use of every opportunity you have,
because these are evil days.
12.
13. 1 Timothy 1:15 Here is a trustworthy saying
that deserves full acceptance: Christ
Jesus came into the world to save
sinners - of whom I am the worst (chief
sinner)
1 Corinthians 15:9 I am the least of the
Apostles
Ephesians 3:8 I am the least of the saints
14. • Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads
to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19
speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and
songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your
heart to the Lord.
• 2 Tim 2:4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved
in civilian affairs; he wants to please his Commanding
Officer
15. 18 …. fight the battle well,
19 holding on to faith and a good
conscience, which some have rejected
and so have suffered shipwreck with
regard to the faith.
