  2. 2. 2 The Home Builders Federation ALI SEYTANPIR PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT The Home Builders Federation The Home Builders Federation (HBF) regulates the home building industry in England and Wales. Responsible for 80% of new build homes, the HBF’s body of members is comprised of businesses of varying sizes, including international household names and small, local firms.
  3. 3. 3 The HBF has numerous responsibilities to its mem- bers. It ensures that government representatives and high-ranking politicians are aware of specific housing issues and challenges. In order to facilitate the supply of housing, the HBF works with elected parliament officials to make sure housing policies are initiated. The HBF meets with government to discuss impor- tant decisions which might affect members and to ensure their interests are represented during for- mal consultation procedures. Economic, planning, technical and environmental matters are considered on a regional and national basis. By maintaining po- sitive relationships with print and broadcast media, the HBF ensures the housing industry is properly represented. As a representative body of home building, the HBF strives to keep members informed on industry deve- lopments which could impact businesses. The HBF holds regular meetings with members to exchange information about relevant issues.
