     Part 2.1:
           Government to E Government

First stage.   the Establishment (delivering information)

   In the 1990s (drawing plans – building infrastructure –
    supporting specialised agencies)

   Creating hundreds of governmental websites

   By 2000, some websites achieved the worlds'
    advanced level of constructing information

   However, this rapid development caused some
    problems, according to the National Audit Office
    (NAO. 2002)

In 2002, Government on the Web II report, by NAO, created a
suggested model to develop the UK e government

Second stage.   National Development

 In 2004, a new plan was followed

 Launching www.directgov.uk & www.businesslink.uk

 major initiative development in delivering public services

 about 10 million visits a month

 to allow citizens to complete the transactions

   submitting the documents online
Directgov was described as, “the place to turn for the latest
and widest range of public service information” (Galindo, F.
2005)
