3. Introduction
Automatic speech recognition (ASR) can be
defined as the independent,
computer‐driven transcription of spoken
language into readable text in real time.
ASR is technology that allows a computer to
identify the words that a person speaks into
a microphone or telephone and convert it
to written text.
6. Working
The goal of an ASR system is to accurately
and efficiently convert a speech signal into
a text message transcription of the spoken
words independent of the speaker,
environment or the device used to record
the speech (i.e. the microphone).
Work like a human body.
7. HOW DO HUMANS DO IT?
I. SOUND WAVES PRODUCED
II. WAVES REACHES THE EARS
III.FORWARDED TO BRAIN FOR UNDERSTANDING IT
8. HOW MIGHT COMPUTER DO THIS?
DIGITIZATION
ANALYSIS OF SIGNAL
INTERPRETATION OF SIGNAL
9. NEED & IMPORTANCE:
The development of speech activation and recognition
technology was funded by the National Science
Foundation (NSF) and the Defense Department's Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Much of the
initial research, performed with NSA and NSF funding, was
conducted in the 1980s. (Source: Global Security.Org)
For those people who are not physically active to do their
own work.
10. SPEECH RECOGNITION USED IN:
SMART PHONES FOR SEARCHING AND
NAVIGATION FACILITIES
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS eg:
ROBOT
HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEMS
IN COMPUTER
14. CONCLUSION:
The Future scope of the system is very good.
This Technology is Beneficial for public and
private sectors of the business community.
The Technology is easily use by children and
adults.
