about asking what God wanted her to do. "The book of Martha" written by Octavia Butler uses

One such literary element used to present the story's theme is the setting. First she was "sitting at

According to my three day diet analysis it seems like my eating habits are poor. Not necessarily
that I am consuming too many bad foods but I am not getting the all around nutrients that I need

I was educated further on the matter and even did my own personal research to see what things I
did that were considered using energy. In my job I am constantly talking, writing, typing, moving

On my current diet, I consume excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates and added sugars.
These types of carbohydrates do not contain the necessary nutrients, needed by the body for
optimal health. Also, consuming excessive amounts of these types of carbohydrates may result in
obesity. The DRI recommends that I consume a minimum of 25 grams of fiber daily. My current
intake of dietary fiber falls short of meeting my recommended amount. Fiber is important in a
healthy diet. It is beneficial in maintaining good digestive health and with prevention of diseases,
including colon and rectal cancer. Adequate amounts of fiber also decrease the risk of heart
disease by lowering the amount of LDL cholesterol within the blood. My current caloric intakes,
varies from day to day. On some days, I exceeded the DRI's recommendations; however, my caloric
intake most often fell below the recommended amounts. Both of these are important in maintaining a
healthy body weight. Consuming too many calories can cause weight gain. In addition, consuming
inadequate calories can have the same effect. Since calories are used as the main source of energy
within the body, consuming too few calories can slow down the body's metabolism, making it

elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve

majors of respondents were considered in an effort to locate any link between the majors people
take and the information they hold. The majors differed across the board but as shown in Chart 3,
45% of respondents were from the college of Medicine. The next disciplines reported were Liberal
Arts and Business at 30% and 25% respectively. This showed the prevalence of many different
majors which did not prove to be significant influence on opinions. The open ended questions yielded
some interesting results. Most of the participants reported the media or media sources as mediums
through which they receive their information. Only two participants wrote down a school or the
education system as the medium for their knowledge.

?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world.
Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental
project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from
their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like
you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be
a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright
blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow.
This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world.
Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean
was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about
entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the
location of his most recent captive.
