Fazbear Horror Attraction Research Paper
You scrolled through the Fazbear Horror Attraction ads, noticing something that the guy by the
counter hadn't told you about. The night shift starts at 12–6AM and by the stories you were seeing
online, it wasn't really the best time. 'But didn't the Bite Of '87 happen during a birthday? What even
goes on at night?' You did manage to come across several rumors about children being stuffed into
the animatronic suits, therefore leading the shutdown for the pizzeria that was built in the 1990's.
According to the medias, some guy lured 5 children to the back and killed them, stuffing them into
suits which leads to the cause of the foul odor from the animatronics. 'The 1900's sure was a weird
place," You kept scrolling through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
'I'm going to worry about that boarded room.' You concluded before heaving yourself off the leather
chair that they could somehow afford. Luckily enough, Yariel was nice enough to show you around
the attraction before you could get to work. 'Remember, if anything goes horribly wrong, just quit.'
You tried to calm your racing heart but it only reduced the pounding a little. Beads of sweat rolled
down your forehead as you trudged past by the boarded room. Honestly, you never felt so nervous in
your life. Maybe you should stop watching horror movies and reading rumors online, it was fake
after all. You couldn't help but get a whiff of something rotten from that dreaded room. 'No, no thank
you. Not going to die today.' Your pace quickened, eventually settling in the office. You weren't
going to lie but, the crappy props that was made to scare people did scare you––at least as of right
now. The ringing of the phone almost made you jump out of your

The Effects Of Cultural Stereotypes And Group Membership
The Effects of Cultural Stereotypes and Group Membership In the last few decades, the media has
emphasized the prevalence of racism in America. Individuals often wonder if the number of
interracial police shootings have actually increased over the years, or if the availability heuristic is at
play. Regardless, racial biases and the natural development of in groups and out groups continue to
play a crucial role in everyday life. Miller, Zielaskowski, and Plant (2012) and DeAngelis (2009)
both discussed the effects that group membership and cultural stereotypes have on behavior and
overall mental health. Clinicians must be aware of how these factors influence their client's own
self–image as well as how these factors may influence the therapeutic ... Show more content on

For example, I worked with a 42–year–old black male who disliked women, especially white
women. When he saw that I would be his case manager, he was infuriated. His first words to me
were "No skinny–ass woman is going to tell me what to do, especially no White woman!" I staffed
the case with my supervisor and we agreed that I should do my best to work with this individual.
After two sessions of yelling, his affect started to change. He later told me that White women were
always scared of him, which over time caused him to hate all White females. We worked together
until I left the clinic. He made significant progress, and he taught me how stereotypes and group
membership can have a substantial impact on an individual. Cultural stereotypes and group
membership are present in our daily lives. Clinicians must be aware of how these factors impact
their clients. They should also be conscious of any biases they have and do their best to ensure these
biases do not impact the treatment of the client. Furthermore, future research should continue to
explore these topics to minimize the detrimental effects these factors may have on

The Prairie Meadow Scholarship
If I was going to receive the Prairie Meadow Scholarship, it would allow me to pay for my college
tuition, and architecture classes to further pursue to achieve a associates at DMACC and a masters
in Iowa State University. The colleges I would appreciate attending are Iowa State University and
DMACC. It would take away a lot of stress and anxiety towards the high cost of college tuition,
books, paying for classes.
The scholarship would help me pay for other classes that could help me study and improve my
education in college. If I win this scholarship it would improve my mental focus in college.
Thinking that if I can win this scholarship, I know I can graduate college. What I mean by this is if
you have the patience and integrity to apply for this scholarship, you should have the will to
graduate college. Also, if you want to strive for a scholarship such as this one, you should have the
intention that you can graduate and college should not be that hard, if you work hard enough. I
would also like to continue on the fact that it would help rid of anxiety and stress. This scholarship
would allow me to purchase all of my books, pencils, classes, and other basic needs to go to school.
Covering that cost would definitely take away stress, anxiety and heart aches. I would not go into
serious debt from college which would help me financially now and ... Show more content on

Also, I would make more eco–efficient buildings and more with a unique style by creating different
ways it can work and operate. I would be making my community stand out from the others by

attention to my community which would help it financially, which is much needed. I could also
design more comfortable and modern houses with a cheaper price which would allow more people

The Meadows Museum Analysis
The Meadows Museum is a public art museum on the Southern Methodist University campus, and it
collects a lot of Spanish works. When I was around the museum, I saw many beautiful stone
sculptures. When I entered the museum, I felt quiet, serious and professional because of visitors who
focused on appreciation of art and staff wore formal clothing. According to the artwork I am most
interested in, I will introduce its information, my first impression, and the second impression.
The artwork
The artwork is one of key highlights of the collections, and its position is located in the most
important entrance. The sculpture's subject is Sho, and its appearance is a head and is made of many
painted stainless steel bars. Its artist is Jaume Plensa who

Research Paper On Cherokee
There was a couple named Kiowa and Muraco. They've been together for 8 years. They had a
beautiful, healthy baby girl. Her name was Cherokee. Kiowa and Muraco loved Cherokee so much
but they knew they couldn't keep Cherokee because they were poor. They had no money to take care
of Cherokee. Everyday they struggled to find food and water. Days went by and Kiowa was starting
to get sick. Each day it got worse and worse. Her skin was turning red, her eyes were puffy and she
constantly coughed and sneezed. Kiowa told Muraco she didn't feel good and she felt like she was
going to die soon. On the fourth day, Kiowa died and Muraco was left to raise Cherokee by himself.
Muraco knew nothing about raising kids. He was scared. He didn't know what to do so he decided to

her father left her. She had to do everything for herself. She had to find food, water, and shelter. The
same day her father left her she saw a snake. The snake was slithering slowly towards her. Cherokee

Gridlock Meadows : An Organization
Gridlock Meadows Case Study Gridlock Meadows as an Organization The residential treatment
center in the case study, Gridlock Meadows, is a good example of an organization. According to
Krist–Ashman (2014), an organization is a social entity that is goal directed, linked to the outside
environment, and designed as deliberately structured and coordinated activity systems. A social
entity is a group of people who are together for a social reason (Kirst–Ashman, 2014). The
residential treatment center in the case study is a social entity because it contains employees,
residents, and possibly outside participants who are interacting with each other. Gridlock Meadows
further fits the definition of an organization because it is goal directed, which means that it exists for
a specified purpose (Kirst–Ashman, 2014). The specified purpose of Gridlock Meadows is to
provide treatment for adolescent males with serious behavior and emotional problems. Although not
specifically stated in the case study, one would assume that Gridlock Meadows is designed as a
deliberately structured and coordinated activity system. Ways that this may be evidenced would be
by the presence of different departments within the treatment center performing designated
functions, for example Beverly may be part of the counseling department which would be separate
from the food service department or the custodial department. Finally, Gridlock Meadows meets the
definition of an organization because it is

Consolation Behavior Should Be Observed Outside Of Species...
Consolation behavior entails as an increase in comforting contact in response to and directed toward
a distressed individual by an uninvolved bystander, which produces a calming effect (Zahn–Waxler
et al., 1992; De Waal & Van Roomalen, 1979). Observations of consolation behavior in animals
such as elephants have led to the conclusion that consolation behavior may require advanced
cognitive capacities (Plotnik & De Waal, 2014). However, the current study sought to investigate if
consolation behavior could be observed outside of species with advanced cognition, such as in a
rodent species. Such an observation would suggest that consolation behavior relies on less cognitive
capacities and may be variably expressed in species due to their species–specific evolutionary
context (Burkett et al., 2016).
Researchers decided to use the rodent species of the prairie vole and the meadow vole in their study.
This was done because the social traits of the prairie vole, i.e. being socially monogamous and
biparental, often coevolve with other cooperative behaviors that increase direct or indirect fitness,
including social buffering among colony members (Burkett et al., 2016). The meadow vole, in
contrast, are promiscuous breeders with no formal social structure. Thus, Burkett and colleagues
offered the following three hypotheses. Firstly, they hypothesized that if both voles are placed under
reproducible laboratory conditions, then the prairie vole will show consolation behavior while the

When people get a job, they may be nervous or very excited, but they never expect the management
to be so bad they will want to quit. This is what happened to Beverly at Gridlock Meadows.
Knowing the management style of your employer or supervisor can help you with problems in the
long run. This paper will focus on four different management styles and how they could be used in
Gridlock Meadows.
Organization Definition
Organizations are social entities that are goal directed, are designed as deliberately structured and
coordinated activity systems, and are linked to the external environment (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). The
four main parts of that definition are social entity, goal directed, deliberately structured, and link to

Theory X and Y
Some could argue that Bambi manages with Theory X management style. Bambi would view
Beverly as being incapable of growth, she would feel the need to control, direct, or force Beverly to
make her work (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). This is seen by Bambi having to see every progress letter,
sitting in sessions, and reacting badly to when Beverly approached these issues. Theory Y is the
complete opposite; Bambi would see Beverly as wanting to grow and will work hard to accomplish
goals (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). Again Bambi would not have to see every progress letter, sit in
sessions, or react badly to Beverly approaching any issue she might have. Bambi would respect and
appraise Beverly as well as give her other rewards like a raise or some other incentive.
Beverly's View
Under Bambi's current management, classical management, Beverly feels like an idiot and belittled
by Bambi. She felt thwarted and trapped, she wanted to quit because she was so unhappy in the job
(Kirst–Ashman, 2011). If Bambi had used the neoclassical management style, Beverly would have
feel more appreciated because her opinion would matter and be counted, she would have more
motivation to work because of incentives, never feeling trapped or trampled on. Now if Bambi used
the human relations theory, Beverly would really feel like her opinions counted and that she was
free to run

Over the past few years, middle income segment in Indonesia is growing rapidly and has a direct
impact to Indonesian economy. According to Euromonitor middle income segment is around 52.4%

The Importance Of My Cultural Interview
My culture is essential when understanding who I am as a person and as a future social worker. The
top three elements of my culture include my gender, race, and religious affiliation. My gender, race,
and religious affiliation can heavily impact an interview with a client by supporting and interfering
with the interview process. While some elements of my culture are more easily viewable than
others, all may have a gargantuan impact in my future social work career with my clients. Upon
interviewing a client, one of the first aspects a client will notice about me is my gender. Discussing
my gender is essential when talking about my cultural identity because being female has shaped my
perspectives and experiences in this world and can even impact my interview with a client. There
are advantages and disadvantages to being a female, mostly demonstrated within my interactions
with others, and I will likely bring these advantages and disadvantages with me in a future interview.
Many people, including possible clients, view females as more nurturing and compassionate when
compared to male counterparts. This bias may influence my ability to do my job effectively and
efficiently. This impact will likely be beneficial as clients could be more open to speaking with a
counselor whom he or she believes could be more sympathetic towards his or her situation. In
addition, being female can also positively impact my experiences with female clients– especially
those who have experienced

American Environmentalism Essay
"The modern form of the word environment comes from an older word that we hardly use anymore:
environ, to surround, to form a ring around, to encircle" (Stoll 3). The meaning of the word
environment did not become a major factor in the lives of humanity until 1945. The tragic events
that led to the end of World War II sparked a chief movement in history: American
Environmentalism. Global decision–making changed as well as human unity due to the mere
purpose that fate of all people and the environment became intertwined (Stoll 1). I will further
discuss the dramatic attempts made by some Americans to bring the importance of preserving our
environment to the surface to show if and how we have evolved.
"On July 16, 1945, a six–kilogram ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not enough of humanity took an interest in what environed them. The interest was not sparked until
it threatened the life of humanity.
There were many sources that lead to environmentalism. Preserving the wilderness was just one
aspect of the progress made since 1945. Post WWII, Americans view on the resources used as well
as the way they treated their environment changed. Americans protested the abuse of the
environment (Stoll 11), and politically there were statements made against air and water pollution
(Stoll 11) by the president as well as women's organizations. "Novelist Earnest Callenbach imagined
a transformation in the entire political and material basis of American Society in the form of a new
nation...(Callenbach 111)." "Through this fictional device, Callenbach creates a world of complete
equality, but also one in which a nationally unifying solution to the problem of the environment
proved to be impossible" (Callenbach111).
We are steadily building and creating new devices and products that contribute to the pollution of
the atmosphere. For instance, there are far more cars on the road then there are people, and I see no
real progress in the actions taken in attempt to save the environment. The number of people
contributing to the harm of the environment is far greater then the number trying to preserve it. In

The Mountain Meadows Massacre
In September of 1857, roughly 120 members of the "Baker–Fancher" party – a California bound
wagon–train from Arkansas – decided to set up camp in Mountain Meadows, Utah Territory. The
newly–arrived settlers were denied water access and grazing land by the LDS throughout Utah, and
thus welcomed the lush pastures and pristine streams of Mountain Meadows. However,
unbeknownst to them, an increasingly malevolent Mormon presence planned on retributive
bloodshed. On September 7, a branch of Mormon militia known as the "Nauvoo Legion" disguised
themselves as Paiute Indians and, along with the alleged aid of several actual Paiutes, attacked the
Baker–Fancher party. Despite being significantly outnumbered by the Mormon–Native war party,

By March, 1830, Smith translated and compiled them into the first edition of the Book of Mormon.
According to Smith, "...when he found and translated the plates, they told of a lost tribe of Israel that
migrated to the Americas many hundreds of years ago" (Online Nevada Encyclopedia). This "lost
tribe" was led by Lehi, the first American forefather, and several of his sons – Nephi, Laman, and
Lemuel. Initially, civilization remained in balance between "fair" and "righteous" Nephites and their
more aggressive Lamanite brethren (Hickman 429). Eventually, the warlike Lamanites united
against their neighbors and all but decimated the Nephite population. Due to this contemptuous, God
cursed Laman and Lemuel with a "...skin of blackness", in an effort to separate their progeny from
the "record–keeping" Nephites (2 Nephi 5:21; Alma 3:8) (429). Most contemporary LDS view
"Nephites" as authors of the Book of Mormon (Angel Moroni was a Nephite), and "Lamanites" as

The Help Character Analysis
"Ever morning, until you die in the ground, you gone have to make a decision. You gone have to ask
yourself, am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?" (Stockett 73). This quote is from
Constantine, who was an influential person to Skeeter in the novel The Help. She is illustrating how
hard it can be to live in an area where diversity makes you an outcast. Throughout this book the
hardships of being alienated are obvious and daunting; this can be seen through the loss of loved
ones, white privilege, and personal relationships. Loss of a loved one is one of the many themes that
was portrayed in the book The Help. One of the many losses that is brought up numerous times, is
when Skeeter loses her childhood maid Constantine. Throughout the book Skeeter was determined
to find out the truth about Constantine's disappearance. By the end of the book she finds out
Constantine was forced out by Skeeter's mother. Skeeter also loses her first love. When Stuart
finally gets down on one knee Skeeter feels the pressure to tell him about the book she has written.
As I would suspect Stuart's response was "I don't... think I can marry somebody I don't know"
(Stockett 449), ending their relationship in its entirety. Celia also experienced several losses
throughout the book. With Minny as a witness, Celia lost several of her babies through miscarriage.
She became depressed and felt completely broken; she even tried to drink molasses as a remedy to
prevent miscarriages. In the beginning she refused to tell her husband, but by the end she chooses to
share the bad news. Lastly Aibileen tragically lost her son Treelore along with Mae Mobley witch
was one of the babies she was watching. Aibileen's son was only twenty–four years old when he was
struck down by a tractor trailer at work. By the time Aibileen found out it was too late. These are all
prime examples of how the book portrays the loss of loved ones. Along with the loss of loved ones
there was also a constant theme of white privilege. Although the book was written to bring
awareness to white privilege there were many cases of racism towards blacks. One of the many
examples of white privileges, was when Hilly tried to convince all the white households to get a

First, rhetorical analyses require a writer to think beyond what they are used to doing. It is less
challenging to interpret what a speaker is trying to convey, but more challenging to figure out as to
why they are trying to make the audience believe their message. Secondly, I was also required to

The State assures FEMA that it shall comply with all applicable Federal statutes and regulations in
effect during the periods for which it receives grant funding, including those listed under Authority

State's compliance with the terms and conditions of this plan. In several prior audits, OIG has
identified that Colorado did not properly manage or monitor its FEMA grants. Without effective
management and monitoring of awards and subawards, there is a greater risk that FEMA's disaster

A Research On Meadow Hills Hospital
Meadow Hills Hospital is a two hundred bed hospital with a large Medical Staff that serves a
population of three hundred thousand. It is one of four similar hospitals in the region. They do not
currently have an EHR, but they're financial systems are well developed. They have a good amount
of money in reserve to spend on any solution they feel is needed. Historically, their IT function has
reported up through the Chief Financial Officer. This has led to their financial systems being well
developed. But, their Clinical systems are significantly less developed. Clinicians have been ok with
this arrangement. Not having more advanced clinical systems has allowed them to develop and
maintain processes that they are comfortable with. This is a comfort for the clinicians, but is likely
costing the organization money as records are paper based, not electronic. Also, as they have no
CPOE installed, they are not performing the safety checks, such as drug interaction that can come
with those systems. This is placing an unnecessary risk on patients. Developing an IT Strategy for
Meadow Hills Hospital would likely revolve around bolstering the clinical side of IT. An IT Strategy
would assist the organization in knowing how and where to invest the money stored in their
reserves. This can also ensure that their IT goals are in line with their overall organization goals. As
they are currently organized, IT reports up to the CFO. This is a formula to ensure that IT goals

The Journey Of The Meadow
The Journey It was another ordinary day. Lilian woke up at 6:30, went downstairs, said goodbye to
her grandma, and then walked out the door to school. Every day at school, Lilian sat next to her best
and only friend, Lucy. Lucy and Lilian were very different. Lucy was outgoing and best friends with
everyone, and Lilian was very shy and only talked to Lucy. Every day before Lilian went home, she
went to the meadow. The meadow was her favorite place in the whole world. The meadow was
filled with beautiful flowers that stretched for a very long distance. Lilian went to the meadow
because every Friday after school her mother and father used to take her there for a picnic. Her
mother and father died two years ago, but nobody knows how they died. The only memory Lilian
had left of her mother and father was a gold heart shaped locket with their picture inside.
When Lilian went to the meadow all she thought about was her parents. She missed them so much.
When her mom and dad died, she had to live with her grandma. After one hour at the meadow, every
day, her grandma would yell ¨Oh sweet Lilian, time to come home for supper!" That night at dinner,
Lilian's mind thought more about how her parents died than ever before! She wanted to know so
badly what had happened to them. Lilian had always wanted to ask her grandma if she knew what
happened, but she never had the courage to ask. That changed that night.
Finally Lillian asked her grandma, ¨Grandma, do you know anything

Donella Meadows ' Thinking On Systems
Donella Meadows ' Thinking in Systems: A Primer, is an introductory attempt to illustrate that
everything is interconnected in systems. She starts with simple diagrams of supply stocks, flow
patterns, and feedback paths and shows it 's not macrocosms or microcosms, it 's a whole system
prospective to problem solving. She then points to changes in a system or subsystem and how a
response or a delayed response can have seen and unforeseen consequences. Participants in systems
need to be intuitive, aware, and creative when considering leverage points for system change and/or
redesign.
Donella Meadows explains, "The systems–thinking lens allows us to reclaim our intuition about
whole systems and hone our abilities to understand parts, see interconnections, ask "what if"
questions about possible future behaviors, and be creative and courageous about system redesign"

complex systems" (Meadows, 2008: p. XIII).
A system is a group of things organized in a structure to produce a set of behaviors. A system must

Prairie Meadows Scholarship
I would like to pursue a career as an architectural drafter and a drafting engineer. The Prairie
Meadows Scholarship would help me financially and it would make it easier to pay off student loans
after college. This is my dream job. I love taking architectural and engineer drafting classes at
school. My parents always told me to get a job that I would enjoy so I would be happy to go to
work. Architecture is something that I enjoy doing and would like to make a career out of. I have
always been fascinated with the way that floor plans are drawn out and how blueprints are laid out.

When I graduate college, I would love to design a building that would fascinate kids and encourage
them to be an architect. Someday, I want to create a building that will better the city of Altoona.
Most importantly, I want to be known for contributing and giving back to my community. I can give
back to my community by designing the floor plans for houses in my town. I will be able to give
each person a personalized floor plan to make every house different. I would also try to design the
floor plans for new buildings and business. As a kid, my parents taught me to give back to others

Coming Of Age Throughout Mississippi By Anne Moody
In the book Coming Of Age In Mississippi by Anne Moody gives us a life perspective on how life
was in the past for blacks. As well as her life story on how she suffered so much but she never gave
up. She always found ways to overcome things and wanted to help blacks so they would no longer
be suffering and have freedom. The book/author both add to the conversations we had in class. For
example: how blacks had no freedom, worked for whites and were mistreated. They were not paid
well, so many of them were poor. They as well had sharecropping. Including the civil rights
movement. In my view this is a very worthy source of historical information and argumentation of
work. It shows us all that blacks had to go through to survive. As well as how much they suffered.
All blacks worked for where the whites which they were always mistreated, not payed enough. They
were poor and had lots of family to feed. Many of the kids like Essie Mae had to work for a very
low pay but it helped them not starve. It made us see later in the book of all the killings of blacks
that were happening. They were all too afraid to speak up and do something about it, but not Essie
Mae. During her time trying to help out and win blacks their freedom a lot happened that is still
talked about today. The author did not include race, poverty, labor issues, and economic problems
they were facing. The author might have had a reason why she left all these things out. Might have
just wanted us to see her point of

Acri Meadows Park Experiment
We went to Acri Meadows Park on 10/6/2016. We conducted numerous experiments. The first
experiment we did was the math experiment. We measured how deep or shallow the location we
were given to go to was. Then we timed how much time it would take the bobber to touch the
bamboo stick. Lastly, we calculated the velocity of the water. In another station, we did dissolved
oxygen tests to test if the water was polluted or not. In the third station we had to go into the creek
and get rocks and stones. There were enormous rocks and we found multiple types of critters. Next
we had to notice what critters were on it. The critters were classified in different groups. One group
was pollution sensitive, the second group was somewhat sensitive and lastly the third group was not
sensitive at all. In the last 2 groups, we had to take photos and videos of the experiments and the
creek. My hypothesis was if the water is deeper than it will move slower. ... Show more content on

We also did the Nitrate tests. For the results, we received 2.0 or less. That means the water is in
good quality. Next we did the Dissolved Oxygen test. We obtained results that were in 10.0, 11.0
and 12.0 which means that the water is good quality. But the first group who did this test gathered a
9.0 which is fair. This means that the water is kind of polluted. The rest of the tests we did were
testing the acidity and alkalinity. The results were positive, but for the first trial of the pH meter
reading, the results were fair.
In conclusion, the water is not that polluted, according to the test results. Mostly all of the results
were excellent, but only 2 of the results were fair, which is in between poor and excellent.

Summary OfThe Meadow At Vetheuil
The Impressionist painting, "The Meadow at Vetheuil," was painted by Claude Monet in 1879. The
painting measures 32 inches by 39 ¼ inches. Claude Monet used oil on canvas. He was known for
painting landscapes and scenes from life in Paris. The city of Vetheuil, where he lived, was
northwest of Paris. It was a small village. The impressionistic style of painting came about in the
mid 1800's. Painters who painted in this style used everyday life as their subject matter. Paint was
applied to canvases with short brushstrokes that could be seen on the finished painting. There was
no blending and smoothing as in the past and wasn't well received at the time by the art world. The
lines in the Monet painting are very subtle. A horizontal line forms on the horizon and through the
tree line in the middle. You can see some subtle curved lines at the tree tops. The dominate colors in
this artwork are cool greens and blues with hints of warm yellow. They are realistic colors, as what
you would see in nature. There are strong contrasts of dark to light throughout the green grass and
trees to add depth. Colors are placed right next to each other to help show how light is reflected and
to give the first impression of the scene. The color scheme is blue, green and yellow. This painting
has realistic, organic tree shapes that have height and depth. The flowers in the front have a very
loose representation of a realistic plants. Clouds appear to have curvy, smooth edges. They have
depth due to the gray underneath. Textures from brushstrokes become thick to thin in the
foreground. Small dabs of darks and lights also bring texture to the painting in the flowers and trees.
The artist shows depth in this painting by objects becoming smaller as they recede. He also places
the warmer tones in the front and cooler tones in the distance. Colors overlap and there is more
definition in the front. The painting shows contrast with a light sky to a dark tree line. There are cool
backgrounds and warmer tones in the front to bring the flowers forward. This painting is arranged in
an asymmetrical layout. The movement of this painting starts at the upper left corner and flows
diagonally down to the bottom right. The darkening tree line on

make this project successful would include grass seed, a few trees (2 or 3), 2 picnic tables, and a
swing set or other playground equipment. Some neighbors may be willing to donate used items that
are taking up space in their own back yards. A little paint and small repairs could become an asset to
this project. Around the perimeter of the playground and picnic area, a dirt track could be
constructed for children to ride their bikes where they would be off the streets and in a designated
bike area. If neighbors were willing to donate 2 hours minimum of time and skills towards this park,
the park could be developed in a timely manner. With residents helping in the construction of the

residents would be established to assist in planning, fundraising, and taking in donations for the

Summary Of ' The Meadow '
The time Vera had spent meditating with Silas in the meadow, much to their disappointment, hadn't
brought them any closer to Aradia.
"We'll keep trying. Our energy together is stronger than alone," Silas said after every session. An
attempt to raise her spirits Vera guessed.
Each night she squirmed in her bed, her mind plagued with flashbacks of Serbsy. Tonight she was
sure would be no different as she curled up in bed. In dream form, she roamed the haunted hallways
but tonight a nurse marched in front of her, instead of her usual nightmare of being dragged by two
guards, the most vicious of the two laughing in her face.
"Now the task we are going to do next is a tedious one but has to be done, unfortunately," the nurse
said. She wore a tight brown bun on her head, her eyes small and beady. "Every two weeks we have
to shave the patients' heads. This..."
"... Makes it easier for ECG readings and other experiments. As well as the prevention of lice
spreading." Vera found herself saying. She was familiar with the head shaving. She'd had it done to
her for years while incarcerated. The voice that escaped her mouth was one she recognised but didn't
know. I must be lucid dreaming, this isn't one of my memories. She lowered her gaze to see she was
wearing a green nurse uniform. I remember that uniform...
The older nurse smiled to reveal a set of crooked teeth.

Meadow Descriptive Writing
A crisp breeze bends, splits, and shifts the life around me as I slowly turn, taking in the wide, open
meadow. I am in a basin on a picturesque October morning under a soft, blue sky. The mountain is
remarkably bold, beautiful, yet, peaceful and right. Golden is the meadow with the yellow leaves
swaying on the branches casting their color above me and fallen leaves still vibrant; light swirls and
shines above and below. Some branches are bare as fall strips away summer. This meadow situated
in the basin of the San Francisco Peaks; a meadow with hay–like grass drying from these bracing
waves of winds gives me goosebumps as I shiver my writing slants downwards and then juts up.
There is an underlying rattling from this grass all bending to the East from these gusts. Pine needles
from the Ponderosas are sprinkled on the ground and crunch under each step I take–crunch, then
scatter. I break apart these pine needles and other debris, even some dry leaves from the aspens
above.
A meadow with ponderosas, an incline with aspens, all situated on this vast mountain. The wind
touches all within its long reach from way up in the cloudless sky to the lowest it can extend,
picking up the dirt and blowing it back in my eyes as I write this under a swaying tree. Left then
right, and back again with each breeze it comes in waves: calm, a slight tickle as it brushes against
me, then slam, and calm again. The breeze sifts through the sand each particle blends into the next.

Mountain Meadows Massacre Essay example
On the day of September 11, 1857, an emigrant party camped at Mountain Meadows was brutally
killed by the Mormon militia aided by Indians. This essay examines two viewpoints regarding the
massacre found in Sally Denton's "American Massacre" and in "Massacre at Mountain Meadows"
by Ronald W. Walker, Richard E. Turley, and Glen M. Turley. September 7, 1857, the emigrants of
the Fancher–Baker train were just awakening and preparing for the day when gunshots were
sounded. The emigrants were caught by surprise and immediately fortified themselves with their
wagons. For days they were harassed, lacking food and water. Finally a Mormon leader by the name
of John D. Lee came to them with a white flag. The Fancher–Baker party was desperate ... Show

She states that "Young's church elders swept through the outlying communities" and scrutinized
"those who were found lacking" (Denton 105). Denton then focuses on the revival of blood
atonement, and how it struck fear in the saints. She points out that Mormons tried to flee after the
reformation was in progress, but were "hunted down and killed" (Denton, 106). In her book she
talks about how the church had more problems, stating that the church was "on the brink of
bankruptcy, and with apostates and internal dissenters at an all time high" (Denton 107). Denton
uses all of these radical statements to illustrate and give readers an understanding of why there was
tension among the Mormons. Walker, Turley, and Leonard explain the reasons for high tension in
Utah a different way. Instead of focusing about problems with the church like Denton, they explain
about things happening around the church. They focus on how news of a coming U.S. army puts
fear in the people. They quote Heber C. Kimball as saying "that the army wanted to take Mormon
women back to the States" (Walker, Turley, Leonard 44). Also, the authors describe how Brigham
Young also makes it seem like the second coming, where Christ comes to destroy the wicked, is near

Essay On Black Cook Out
The Guide to surviving a black cookout
Now days our culture has become increasingly integrated and more accepting of racial diversity.
This means there are situations that may arise through, school, and jobs, cross cultural relationships
or interracial dating where one may find themselves in an environment where the people and the
culture is much different from their own. To prevent awkward moments, miss understandings or
altercations that could jeopardize relationships, I have compiled a list of rules and norms for black

Pay attention to the music. All cook outs start off with good intentions they're usually fun and
innocent, but as it gets later and later adult beverages starts to circulate. As the evening progresses
tensions start to build and it becomes a whole different cook out than the one 3 hours ago. Whenever
you see kids and old people are starting to disappear and the music gets rowdy that means it might
be time to call it a night, you are more than welcome to stay but just be aware nothing good ever
happens after 11:59 pm at these cookouts. Now, I've been around enough white people to know they
also get drunk and brawl too but Black people can really fight.
You may think the music at the cook out is just music, be alert it's really a coded system that
indicates the level of danger in the atmosphere.

music that plays. You're safe, this is the early part of the evening usually. That means the children
and the holy and saved older family members are still around.
2. Old school music : when Al Green, Marvin Gay, Barry White, Luther Vandross and the

could quickly turn into Wrestle Mania before you've had a chance to finish your barbeque ribs and

Crystal Meadows of Tahoe, Inc
Introduction
Crystal Meadows of Tahoe (CMOT) is a holding company for two different ski resorts. The majority
of revenues from this company come from the sale of lift tickets, ski rentals, skiing lessons, and
food and beverage sales; revenues are also primarily generated during the winter months. CMOT
has recently partnered with Toiyabe Resort Company for the development of a year–round ski resort
in the Tahoe area, and have invested $5,300,000 in the venture. CMOT and Toiyabe plan to begin
construction of the resort in 1992. CMOT also plans to invest $8,200,000 in their two ski resorts
(Lake Ridge and Crystal Meadows) in 1992.

These investments brought CMOT's net increase in cash and equivalents to $825,000, which is
roughly 25% of $3,272,000 of cash carried over from the previous year.
Will Crystal Meadows of Tahoe be able to finance its planned 1992 capital investment program with
cash provided by operations during that year?
During the 1991 fiscal year, CMOT saw better skiing conditions for more days than in its previous
history. Given that the majority of revenues at CMOT come from operations including, lift tickets,
ski rentals and lessons, and concessions, it is not guaranteed that CMOT will see similar revenues in
1992.
CMOT is proposing capital investments of $8,200,000 for 1992. All else remaining equal, including
cash taken in from operations and stability in other expenses, this proposed capital expenditure will
negatively impact cash flow and decrease cash on hand for 1992 by nearly 75%. It would be
possible for CMOT to finance their capital investment program with cash provided from operations,
but not with cash provided from 1992's operations alone. If these investments are made completely
from cash, and finance sources are not utilized, there will be a significant increase in CMOT's
assets, which will in turn have a positive effect on shareholder's equity, since there will not be any
further liabilities assumed by the company. There will also be stresses placed on CMOT's liquidity,
which cannot be fully

Analysis Of Madonna In The Meadow
The Madonna watches fondly as her young son and his cousin get acquainted. Mary introducing
Jesus and John the Baptist is an iconic image, especially around the Renaissance Period. The
unknown object being studied in this paper is Image #3, which is one such illustration that depicts
this classical scene. The Madonna in the Meadow by Raphael made in 1505–1506 is the art that was
selected to compare to Image #3. The Madonna in the Meadow was chosen because the unknown
artwork shares a similar topic and style as the one depicted by Raphael. The Renaissance period is
characterized by an art style looking back to ancient Greek and Roman art, exploring depth and
naturalism in a picture through techniques like foreshortening and linear perspective, and the use of
oil paint over fresco and tempera during the early 15th century. Image #3 shares these traits in that it
appears to use oil paint as a medium, the ancient Greek style that can be seen in elements like the
column in the background, and the use of linear perspective. Raphael's art shows traits of ideal
beauty and perfect figures, which Image #3 seems to imitate, and use of oil paint as a Renaissance
painter to achieve deeper shading and a broader range of colors. Therefore, Image #3 seems to be
from the Renaissance Period around the 16th century because of the material depicted and the style
which is somewhat reminiscent of Raphael. Raphael's Madonna in the Meadow shows Mary
introducing her child Jesus to his cousin, Saint

Because of the great scope of subjects that engineering encompasses, I could do a variety of things

Fazbear Horror Research Stereotypes Impact

  • 1. Fazbear Horror Attraction Research Paper You scrolled through the Fazbear Horror Attraction ads, noticing something that the guy by the counter hadn't told you about. The night shift starts at 12–6AM and by the stories you were seeing online, it wasn't really the best time. 'But didn't the Bite Of '87 happen during a birthday? What even goes on at night?' You did manage to come across several rumors about children being stuffed into the animatronic suits, therefore leading the shutdown for the pizzeria that was built in the 1990's. According to the medias, some guy lured 5 children to the back and killed them, stuffing them into suits which leads to the cause of the foul odor from the animatronics. 'The 1900's sure was a weird place," You kept scrolling through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 'I'm going to worry about that boarded room.' You concluded before heaving yourself off the leather chair that they could somehow afford. Luckily enough, Yariel was nice enough to show you around the attraction before you could get to work. 'Remember, if anything goes horribly wrong, just quit.' You tried to calm your racing heart but it only reduced the pounding a little. Beads of sweat rolled down your forehead as you trudged past by the boarded room. Honestly, you never felt so nervous in your life. Maybe you should stop watching horror movies and reading rumors online, it was fake after all. You couldn't help but get a whiff of something rotten from that dreaded room. 'No, no thank you. Not going to die today.' Your pace quickened, eventually settling in the office. You weren't going to lie but, the crappy props that was made to scare people did scare you––at least as of right now. The ringing of the phone almost made you jump out of your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The Effects Of Cultural Stereotypes And Group Membership The Effects of Cultural Stereotypes and Group Membership In the last few decades, the media has emphasized the prevalence of racism in America. Individuals often wonder if the number of interracial police shootings have actually increased over the years, or if the availability heuristic is at play. Regardless, racial biases and the natural development of in groups and out groups continue to play a crucial role in everyday life. Miller, Zielaskowski, and Plant (2012) and DeAngelis (2009) both discussed the effects that group membership and cultural stereotypes have on behavior and overall mental health. Clinicians must be aware of how these factors influence their client's own self–image as well as how these factors may influence the therapeutic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, I worked with a 42–year–old black male who disliked women, especially white women. When he saw that I would be his case manager, he was infuriated. His first words to me were "No skinny–ass woman is going to tell me what to do, especially no White woman!" I staffed the case with my supervisor and we agreed that I should do my best to work with this individual. After two sessions of yelling, his affect started to change. He later told me that White women were always scared of him, which over time caused him to hate all White females. We worked together until I left the clinic. He made significant progress, and he taught me how stereotypes and group membership can have a substantial impact on an individual. Cultural stereotypes and group membership are present in our daily lives. Clinicians must be aware of how these factors impact their clients. They should also be conscious of any biases they have and do their best to ensure these biases do not impact the treatment of the client. Furthermore, future research should continue to explore these topics to minimize the detrimental effects these factors may have on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Prairie Meadow Scholarship If I was going to receive the Prairie Meadow Scholarship, it would allow me to pay for my college tuition, and architecture classes to further pursue to achieve a associates at DMACC and a masters in Iowa State University. The colleges I would appreciate attending are Iowa State University and DMACC. It would take away a lot of stress and anxiety towards the high cost of college tuition, books, paying for classes. The scholarship would help me pay for other classes that could help me study and improve my education in college. If I win this scholarship it would improve my mental focus in college. Thinking that if I can win this scholarship, I know I can graduate college. What I mean by this is if you have the patience and integrity to apply for this scholarship, you should have the will to graduate college. Also, if you want to strive for a scholarship such as this one, you should have the intention that you can graduate and college should not be that hard, if you work hard enough. I would also like to continue on the fact that it would help rid of anxiety and stress. This scholarship would allow me to purchase all of my books, pencils, classes, and other basic needs to go to school. Covering that cost would definitely take away stress, anxiety and heart aches. When I was around the museum, I saw many beautiful stone sculptures. When I entered the museum, I felt quiet, serious and professional because of visitors who focused on appreciation of art and staff wore formal clothing. According to the artwork I am most interested in, I will introduce its information, my first impression, and the second impression. Kiowa and Muraco loved Cherokee so much but they knew they couldn't keep Cherokee because they were poor. They had no money to take care of Cherokee. Everyday they struggled to find food and water. Days went by and Kiowa was starting to get sick. Each day it got worse and worse. Her skin was turning red, her eyes were puffy and she constantly coughed and sneezed. Kiowa told Muraco she didn't feel good and she felt like she was going to die soon. On the fourth day, Kiowa died and Muraco was left to raise Cherokee by himself. Muraco knew nothing about raising kids. He was scared. He didn't know what to do so he decided to find help. ... • 11. Gridlock Meadows : An Organization Gridlock Meadows Case Study Gridlock Meadows as an Organization The residential treatment center in the case study, Gridlock Meadows, is a good example of an organization. According to Krist–Ashman (2014), an organization is a social entity that is goal directed, linked to the outside environment, and designed as deliberately structured and coordinated activity systems. A social entity is a group of people who are together for a social reason (Kirst–Ashman, 2014). The residential treatment center in the case study is a social entity because it contains employees, residents, and possibly outside participants who are interacting with each other. Gridlock Meadows further fits the definition of an organization because it is goal directed, which means that it exists for a specified purpose (Kirst–Ashman, 2014). The specified purpose of Gridlock Meadows is to provide treatment for adolescent males with serious behavior and emotional problems. Although not specifically stated in the case study, one would assume that Gridlock Meadows is designed as a deliberately structured and coordinated activity system. Ways that this may be evidenced would be by the presence of different departments within the treatment center performing designated functions, for example Beverly may be part of the counseling department which would be separate from the food service department or the custodial department. Finally, Gridlock Meadows meets the definition of an organization because it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Consolation Behavior Should Be Observed Outside Of Species... Consolation behavior entails as an increase in comforting contact in response to and directed toward a distressed individual by an uninvolved bystander, which produces a calming effect (Zahn–Waxler et al., 1992; De Waal & Van Roomalen, 1979). Observations of consolation behavior in animals such as elephants have led to the conclusion that consolation behavior may require advanced cognitive capacities (Plotnik & De Waal, 2014). However, the current study sought to investigate if consolation behavior could be observed outside of species with advanced cognition, such as in a rodent species. Such an observation would suggest that consolation behavior relies on less cognitive capacities and may be variably expressed in species due to their species–specific evolutionary context (Burkett et al., 2016). Researchers decided to use the rodent species of the prairie vole and the meadow vole in their study. This was done because the social traits of the prairie vole, i.e. being socially monogamous and biparental, often coevolve with other cooperative behaviors that increase direct or indirect fitness, including social buffering among colony members (Burkett et al., 2016). The meadow vole, in contrast, are promiscuous breeders with no formal social structure. Thus, Burkett and colleagues offered the following three hypotheses. Firstly, they hypothesized that if both voles are placed under reproducible laboratory conditions, then the prairie vole will show consolation behavior while the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Gridlock Meadows Case Study When people get a job, they may be nervous or very excited, but they never expect the management to be so bad they will want to quit. This is what happened to Beverly at Gridlock Meadows. Knowing the management style of your employer or supervisor can help you with problems in the long run. This paper will focus on four different management styles and how they could be used in Gridlock Meadows. Organization Definition Organizations are social entities that are goal directed, are designed as deliberately structured and coordinated activity systems, and are linked to the external environment (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). The four main parts of that definition are social entity, goal directed, deliberately structured, and link to external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Theory X and Y Some could argue that Bambi manages with Theory X management style. Bambi would view Beverly as being incapable of growth, she would feel the need to control, direct, or force Beverly to make her work (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). This is seen by Bambi having to see every progress letter, sitting in sessions, and reacting badly to when Beverly approached these issues. Theory Y is the complete opposite; Bambi would see Beverly as wanting to grow and will work hard to accomplish goals (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). Again Bambi would not have to see every progress letter, sit in sessions, or react badly to Beverly approaching any issue she might have. Bambi would respect and appraise Beverly as well as give her other rewards like a raise or some other incentive. Beverly's View Under Bambi's current management, classical management, Beverly feels like an idiot and belittled by Bambi. She felt thwarted and trapped, she wanted to quit because she was so unhappy in the job (Kirst–Ashman, 2011). If Bambi had used the neoclassical management style, Beverly would have feel more appreciated because her opinion would matter and be counted, she would have more motivation to work because of incentives, never feeling trapped or trampled on. Now if Bambi used the human relations theory, Beverly would really feel like her opinions counted and that she was free to run ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. The Importance Of My Cultural Interview My culture is essential when understanding who I am as a person and as a future social worker. The top three elements of my culture include my gender, race, and religious affiliation. My gender, race, and religious affiliation can heavily impact an interview with a client by supporting and interfering with the interview process. While some elements of my culture are more easily viewable than others, all may have a gargantuan impact in my future social work career with my clients. Upon interviewing a client, one of the first aspects a client will notice about me is my gender. Discussing my gender is essential when talking about my cultural identity because being female has shaped my perspectives and experiences in this world and can even impact my interview with a client. There are advantages and disadvantages to being a female, mostly demonstrated within my interactions with others, and I will likely bring these advantages and disadvantages with me in a future interview. Many people, including possible clients, view females as more nurturing and compassionate when compared to male counterparts. This bias may influence my ability to do my job effectively and efficiently. This impact will likely be beneficial as clients could be more open to speaking with a counselor whom he or she believes could be more sympathetic towards his or her situation. In addition, being female can also positively impact my experiences with female clients– especially those who have experienced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American Environmentalism Essay "The modern form of the word environment comes from an older word that we hardly use anymore: environ, to surround, to form a ring around, to encircle" (Stoll 3). The meaning of the word environment did not become a major factor in the lives of humanity until 1945. The tragic events that led to the end of World War II sparked a chief movement in history: American Environmentalism. Global decision–making changed as well as human unity due to the mere purpose that fate of all people and the environment became intertwined (Stoll 1). I will further discuss the dramatic attempts made by some Americans to bring the importance of preserving our environment to the surface to show if and how we have evolved. "On July 16, 1945, a six–kilogram ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not enough of humanity took an interest in what environed them. The interest was not sparked until it threatened the life of humanity. There were many sources that lead to environmentalism. Preserving the wilderness was just one aspect of the progress made since 1945. Post WWII, Americans view on the resources used as well as the way they treated their environment changed. Americans protested the abuse of the environment (Stoll 11), and politically there were statements made against air and water pollution (Stoll 11) by the president as well as women's organizations. "Novelist Earnest Callenbach imagined a transformation in the entire political and material basis of American Society in the form of a new nation...(Callenbach 111)." "Through this fictional device, Callenbach creates a world of complete equality, but also one in which a nationally unifying solution to the problem of the environment proved to be impossible" (Callenbach111). We are steadily building and creating new devices and products that contribute to the pollution of the atmosphere. For instance, there are far more cars on the road then there are people, and I see no real progress in the actions taken in attempt to save the environment. The number of people contributing to the harm of the environment is far greater then the number trying to preserve it. In Lester Browns Document entitled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Mountain Meadows Massacre In September of 1857, roughly 120 members of the "Baker–Fancher" party – a California bound wagon–train from Arkansas – decided to set up camp in Mountain Meadows, Utah Territory. The newly–arrived settlers were denied water access and grazing land by the LDS throughout Utah, and thus welcomed the lush pastures and pristine streams of Mountain Meadows. However, unbeknownst to them, an increasingly malevolent Mormon presence planned on retributive bloodshed. On September 7, a branch of Mormon militia known as the "Nauvoo Legion" disguised themselves as Paiute Indians and, along with the alleged aid of several actual Paiutes, attacked the Baker–Fancher party. By March, 1830, Smith translated and compiled them into the first edition of the Book of Mormon. According to Smith, "...when he found and translated the plates, they told of a lost tribe of Israel that migrated to the Americas many hundreds of years ago" (Online Nevada Encyclopedia). This "lost tribe" was led by Lehi, the first American forefather, and several of his sons – Nephi, Laman, and Lemuel. Initially, civilization remained in balance between "fair" and "righteous" Nephites and their more aggressive Lamanite brethren (Hickman 429). Eventually, the warlike Lamanites united against their neighbors and all but decimated the Nephite population. Due to this contemptuous, God cursed Laman and Lemuel with a "...skin of blackness", in an effort to separate their progeny from the "record–keeping" Nephites (2 Nephi 5:21; Alma 3:8) (429). • 29. The Help Character Analysis "Ever morning, until you die in the ground, you gone have to make a decision. You gone have to ask yourself, am I gone believe what them fools say about me today?" (Stockett 73). This quote is from Constantine, who was an influential person to Skeeter in the novel The Help. She is illustrating how hard it can be to live in an area where diversity makes you an outcast. Throughout this book the hardships of being alienated are obvious and daunting; this can be seen through the loss of loved ones, white privilege, and personal relationships. Loss of a loved one is one of the many themes that was portrayed in the book The Help. One of the many losses that is brought up numerous times, is when Skeeter loses her childhood maid Constantine. Throughout the book Skeeter was determined to find out the truth about Constantine's disappearance. By the end of the book she finds out Constantine was forced out by Skeeter's mother. Skeeter also loses her first love. When Stuart finally gets down on one knee Skeeter feels the pressure to tell him about the book she has written. As I would suspect Stuart's response was "I don't... think I can marry somebody I don't know" (Stockett 449), ending their relationship in its entirety. Celia also experienced several losses throughout the book. With Minny as a witness, Celia lost several of her babies through miscarriage. She became depressed and felt completely broken; she even tried to drink molasses as a remedy to prevent miscarriages. In the beginning she refused to tell her husband, but by the end she chooses to share the bad news. Lastly Aibileen tragically lost her son Treelore along with Mae Mobley witch was one of the babies she was watching. Aibileen's son was only twenty–four years old when he was struck down by a tractor trailer at work. By the time Aibileen found out it was too late. These are all prime examples of how the book portrays the loss of loved ones. Along with the loss of loved ones there was also a constant theme of white privilege. Although the book was written to bring awareness to white privilege there were many cases of racism towards blacks. One of the many examples of white privileges, was when Hilly tried to convince all the white households to get a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is one of four similar hospitals in the region. They do not currently have an EHR, but they're financial systems are well developed. They have a good amount of money in reserve to spend on any solution they feel is needed. Historically, their IT function has reported up through the Chief Financial Officer. This has led to their financial systems being well developed. But, their Clinical systems are significantly less developed. Clinicians have been ok with this arrangement. Not having more advanced clinical systems has allowed them to develop and maintain processes that they are comfortable with. This is a comfort for the clinicians, but is likely costing the organization money as records are paper based, not electronic. Also, as they have no CPOE installed, they are not performing the safety checks, such as drug interaction that can come with those systems. This is placing an unnecessary risk on patients. Developing an IT Strategy for Meadow Hills Hospital would likely revolve around bolstering the clinical side of IT. An IT Strategy would assist the organization in knowing how and where to invest the money stored in their reserves. This can also ensure that their IT goals are in line with their overall organization goals. As they are currently organized, IT reports up to the CFO. This is a formula to ensure that IT goals ... Every day at school, Lilian sat next to her best and only friend, Lucy. Lucy and Lilian were very different. Lucy was outgoing and best friends with everyone, and Lilian was very shy and only talked to Lucy. Every day before Lilian went home, she went to the meadow. The meadow was her favorite place in the whole world. The meadow was filled with beautiful flowers that stretched for a very long distance. Lilian went to the meadow because every Friday after school her mother and father used to take her there for a picnic. Her mother and father died two years ago, but nobody knows how they died. The only memory Lilian had left of her mother and father was a gold heart shaped locket with their picture inside. When Lilian went to the meadow all she thought about was her parents. She missed them so much. When her mom and dad died, she had to live with her grandma. After one hour at the meadow, every day, her grandma would yell ¨Oh sweet Lilian, time to come home for supper!" That night at dinner, Lilian's mind thought more about how her parents died than ever before! She wanted to know so badly what had happened to them. Lilian had always wanted to ask her grandma if she knew what happened, but she never had the courage to ask. That changed that night. • 39. Donella Meadows ' Thinking On Systems Donella Meadows ' Thinking in Systems: A Primer, is an introductory attempt to illustrate that everything is interconnected in systems. She starts with simple diagrams of supply stocks, flow patterns, and feedback paths and shows it 's not macrocosms or microcosms, it 's a whole system prospective to problem solving. She then points to changes in a system or subsystem and how a response or a delayed response can have seen and unforeseen consequences. Participants in systems need to be intuitive, aware, and creative when considering leverage points for system change and/or redesign. Donella Meadows explains, "The systems–thinking lens allows us to reclaim our intuition about whole systems and hone our abilities to understand parts, see interconnections, ask "what if" questions about possible future behaviors, and be creative and courageous about system redesign" (Meadows, 2008: p.6). Or Sustainability Institute 's Diana Wright, who has edited the work indicates, "Once you start to see the events of the day as parts of trends, and those trends as symptoms of underlying system structure, you will be able to consider new ways to manage and new ways to live in a world of complex systems" (Meadows, 2008: p. XIII). A system is a group of things organized in a structure to produce a set of behaviors. A system must consist of three things: elements, interconnection, and function. As well as her life story on how she suffered so much but she never gave up. She always found ways to overcome things and wanted to help blacks so they would no longer be suffering and have freedom. The book/author both add to the conversations we had in class. For example: how blacks had no freedom, worked for whites and were mistreated. They were not paid well, so many of them were poor. They as well had sharecropping. Including the civil rights movement. In my view this is a very worthy source of historical information and argumentation of work. It shows us all that blacks had to go through to survive. As well as how much they suffered. All blacks worked for where the whites which they were always mistreated, not payed enough. They were poor and had lots of family to feed. Many of the kids like Essie Mae had to work for a very low pay but it helped them not starve. It made us see later in the book of all the killings of blacks that were happening. They were all too afraid to speak up and do something about it, but not Essie Mae. During her time trying to help out and win blacks their freedom a lot happened that is still talked about today. The author did not include race, poverty, labor issues, and economic problems they were facing. The author might have had a reason why she left all these things out. The critters were classified in different groups. One group was pollution sensitive, the second group was somewhat sensitive and lastly the third group was not sensitive at all. • 49. Summary OfThe Meadow At Vetheuil The Impressionist painting, "The Meadow at Vetheuil," was painted by Claude Monet in 1879. The painting measures 32 inches by 39 ¼ inches. Claude Monet used oil on canvas. He was known for painting landscapes and scenes from life in Paris. The city of Vetheuil, where he lived, was northwest of Paris. It was a small village. The impressionistic style of painting came about in the mid 1800's. Painters who painted in this style used everyday life as their subject matter. Paint was applied to canvases with short brushstrokes that could be seen on the finished painting. There was no blending and smoothing as in the past and wasn't well received at the time by the art world. The lines in the Monet painting are very subtle. A horizontal line forms on the horizon and through the tree line in the middle. You can see some subtle curved lines at the tree tops. The dominate colors in this artwork are cool greens and blues with hints of warm yellow. They are realistic colors, as what you would see in nature. There are strong contrasts of dark to light throughout the green grass and trees to add depth. Colors are placed right next to each other to help show how light is reflected and to give the first impression of the scene. The color scheme is blue, green and yellow. This painting has realistic, organic tree shapes that have height and depth. The flowers in the front have a very loose representation of a realistic plants. Clouds appear to have curvy, smooth edges. They have depth due to the gray underneath. Textures from brushstrokes become thick to thin in the foreground. Small dabs of darks and lights also bring texture to the painting in the flowers and trees. The artist shows depth in this painting by objects becoming smaller as they recede. He also places the warmer tones in the front and cooler tones in the distance. Colors overlap and there is more definition in the front. The painting shows contrast with a light sky to a dark tree line. There are cool backgrounds and warmer tones in the front to bring the flowers forward. This painting is arranged in an asymmetrical layout. The movement of this painting starts at the upper left corner and flows diagonally down to the bottom right. The darkening tree line on ... This meadow situated in the basin of the San Francisco Peaks; a meadow with hay–like grass drying from these bracing waves of winds gives me goosebumps as I shiver my writing slants downwards and then juts up. There is an underlying rattling from this grass all bending to the East from these gusts. Pine needles from the Ponderosas are sprinkled on the ground and crunch under each step I take–crunch, then scatter. I break apart these pine needles and other debris, even some dry leaves from the aspens above. A meadow with ponderosas, an incline with aspens, all situated on this vast mountain. The wind touches all within its long reach from way up in the cloudless sky to the lowest it can extend, picking up the dirt and blowing it back in my eyes as I write this under a swaying tree. Left then right, and back again with each breeze it comes in waves: calm, a slight tickle as it brushes against me, then slam, and calm again. The breeze sifts through the sand each particle blends into the next. The only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Mountain Meadows Massacre Essay example On the day of September 11, 1857, an emigrant party camped at Mountain Meadows was brutally killed by the Mormon militia aided by Indians. This essay examines two viewpoints regarding the massacre found in Sally Denton's "American Massacre" and in "Massacre at Mountain Meadows" by Ronald W. Walker, Richard E. Turley, and Glen M. Turley. September 7, 1857, the emigrants of the Fancher–Baker train were just awakening and preparing for the day when gunshots were sounded. The emigrants were caught by surprise and immediately fortified themselves with their wagons. For days they were harassed, lacking food and water. Finally a Mormon leader by the name of John D. Lee came to them with a white flag. The Fancher–Baker party was desperate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She states that "Young's church elders swept through the outlying communities" and scrutinized "those who were found lacking" (Denton 105). Denton then focuses on the revival of blood atonement, and how it struck fear in the saints. She points out that Mormons tried to flee after the reformation was in progress, but were "hunted down and killed" (Denton, 106). In her book she talks about how the church had more problems, stating that the church was "on the brink of bankruptcy, and with apostates and internal dissenters at an all time high" (Denton 107). Denton uses all of these radical statements to illustrate and give readers an understanding of why there was tension among the Mormons. Walker, Turley, and Leonard explain the reasons for high tension in Utah a different way. Instead of focusing about problems with the church like Denton, they explain about things happening around the church. They focus on how news of a coming U.S. army puts fear in the people. They quote Heber C. Kimball as saying "that the army wanted to take Mormon women back to the States" (Walker, Turley, Leonard 44). Also, the authors describe how Brigham Young also makes it seem like the second coming, where Christ comes to destroy the wicked, is near and that the people need to prepare for it. They also mention Brigham Young's strict war policy. Within this war policy, they were to be frugal with all their supplies, and not sell or trade any of it to those of ... • 67. Essay On Black Cook Out The Guide to surviving a black cookout Now days our culture has become increasingly integrated and more accepting of racial diversity. This means there are situations that may arise through, school, and jobs, cross cultural relationships or interracial dating where one may find themselves in an environment where the people and the culture is much different from their own. To prevent awkward moments, miss understandings or altercations that could jeopardize relationships, I have compiled a list of rules and norms for black barbeques/cookouts for my Caucasian friends and those who might attending one of these occasions as a minority. 1. Do not come empty handed: you have to contribute to the occasion because after all nobody wants a free loader. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pay attention to the music. All cook outs start off with good intentions they're usually fun and innocent, but as it gets later and later adult beverages starts to circulate. As the evening progresses tensions start to build and it becomes a whole different cook out than the one 3 hours ago. Whenever you see kids and old people are starting to disappear and the music gets rowdy that means it might be time to call it a night, you are more than welcome to stay but just be aware nothing good ever happens after 11:59 pm at these cookouts. Now, I've been around enough white people to know they also get drunk and brawl too but Black people can really fight. You may think the music at the cook out is just music, be alert it's really a coded system that indicates the level of danger in the atmosphere. 1. Today's popular music – Drake, Kanye West, Beyoncé, J.Cole or Fetty Wap is basic main stream music that plays. You're safe, this is the early part of the evening usually. That means the children and the holy and saved older family members are still around. 2. Old school music : when Al Green, Marvin Gay, Barry White, Luther Vandross and the Temptations starts to play at this point everything should be fine but keep your eyes open, because it could quickly turn into Wrestle Mania before you've had a chance to finish your barbeque ribs and cold ... • 69. Crystal Meadows of Tahoe Essay Crystal Meadows of Tahoe, Inc Introduction Crystal Meadows of Tahoe (CMOT) is a holding company for two different ski resorts. The majority of revenues from this company come from the sale of lift tickets, ski rentals, skiing lessons, and food and beverage sales; revenues are also primarily generated during the winter months. CMOT has recently partnered with Toiyabe Resort Company for the development of a year–round ski resort in the Tahoe area, and have invested $5,300,000 in the venture. CMOT and Toiyabe plan to begin construction of the resort in 1992. CMOT also plans to invest $8,200,000 in their two ski resorts (Lake Ridge and Crystal Meadows) in 1992. During 1991, CMOT saw very positive increases to net income and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These investments brought CMOT's net increase in cash and equivalents to $825,000, which is roughly 25% of $3,272,000 of cash carried over from the previous year. Will Crystal Meadows of Tahoe be able to finance its planned 1992 capital investment program with cash provided by operations during that year? During the 1991 fiscal year, CMOT saw better skiing conditions for more days than in its previous history. Given that the majority of revenues at CMOT come from operations including, lift tickets, ski rentals and lessons, and concessions, it is not guaranteed that CMOT will see similar revenues in 1992. CMOT is proposing capital investments of $8,200,000 for 1992. All else remaining equal, including cash taken in from operations and stability in other expenses, this proposed capital expenditure will negatively impact cash flow and decrease cash on hand for 1992 by nearly 75%. It would be possible for CMOT to finance their capital investment program with cash provided from operations, but not with cash provided from 1992's operations alone. If these investments are made completely from cash, and finance sources are not utilized, there will be a significant increase in CMOT's assets, which will in turn have a positive effect on shareholder's equity, since there will not be any further liabilities assumed by the company. There will also be stresses placed on CMOT's liquidity, which cannot be fully ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Analysis Of Madonna In The Meadow The Madonna watches fondly as her young son and his cousin get acquainted. Mary introducing Jesus and John the Baptist is an iconic image, especially around the Renaissance Period. The unknown object being studied in this paper is Image #3, which is one such illustration that depicts this classical scene. The Madonna in the Meadow by Raphael made in 1505–1506 is the art that was selected to compare to Image #3. The Madonna in the Meadow was chosen because the unknown artwork shares a similar topic and style as the one depicted by Raphael. The Renaissance period is characterized by an art style looking back to ancient Greek and Roman art, exploring depth and naturalism in a picture through techniques like foreshortening and linear perspective, and the use of oil paint over fresco and tempera during the early 15th century. Image #3 shares these traits in that it appears to use oil paint as a medium, the ancient Greek style that can be seen in elements like the column in the background, and the use of linear perspective. Raphael's art shows traits of ideal beauty and perfect figures, which Image #3 seems to imitate, and use of oil paint as a Renaissance painter to achieve deeper shading and a broader range of colors. Therefore, Image #3 seems to be from the Renaissance Period around the 16th century because of the material depicted and the style which is somewhat reminiscent of Raphael. Raphael's Madonna in the Meadow shows Mary introducing her child Jesus to his cousin, Saint ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Self– blame and low self–esteem caused his drug addiction. He uses drugs to mask his vulnerability, and he carries a gun to prove his masculinity. After struggling in the North, Richard moved back to the Southern town of his birth to recover from the addiction. He was aware of the racial violence caused by the Jim Crow Laws. Richard was afraid to end up like his mother, so he carried a gun with him as he goes back to the South for protection. When his grandmother found out that he has had the gun for a long time, Richard insists in keeping the gun and he commanded her not to tell his father, Meridian of the gun. However, after the interactions with Juanita and Lyle, Richard gives the gun to his father voluntarily. What causes Richard to change his mind and give the gun to his father? Given Richard's provocative behavior toward Lyle, one might suggests that Richard pass the gun to Meridian because he wants to be defenseless. He offends Lyle hoping that he will retaliates and eventually ends his life. But why would he want to die? Perhaps because he fails to pursue his dream to become a blues singer in the place where African American can succeed.
