First of all the internet users. The number of them has grown rapidly during the WAVE research.
This is the current situation. Now there are more than700 mil. Internet users all over the world.
Through the activities of uploading photos and videos, creating personal profiles, sharing content via social networks, online users became more active turning themselves into prosumers. In the beginning of online activity users were at some way passive by reading blogs and watching videos and photos (there was no media production).
As we observe, the rise of social networks and media production leads to consumption increase, giving a meaning to the definition of prosumer.
The last two years the massive increase of mobile internet users seems to stabilize a new trend, especially with the use of smartphones.
New opportunities for brands A great opportunity for companies and brands to create, participate and connect with the users via social networks.
