RULES
1.Find your Partner
2.Interact with him /her over a cup of tea
3.Try to know about her / his aspirations in life
& other positive traits
4.Introduce your partner (Time Limit 2-3 min.)
A monitor or a display is an electronic
visual display for computers. The
monitor comprises the display device,
circuit and an enclosure. The display
device in modern monitors is typically
a thin film transistor liquid crystal
display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while
older monitors used a cathode ray tube
(CRT) about as deep as the screen size.

A keyboard is a typewriter-style device, which
uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to
act as mechanical levers or electronic
switches.
It has characters engraved or printed on the
keys and each press of a key typically
corresponds to a single written symbol.
However, to produce some symbols requires
pressing and holding several keys
simultaneously or in sequence.

A mouse is a pointing device that detects two-
dimensional motion relative to a surface. This
motion is typically translated into the motion
of a pointer on a display, which allows for fine
control of a graphical user interface.

A central processing unit (CPU) is the hardware
within a computer that carries out the
instructions of a computer program by
performing the basic arithmetical, logical, and
input/output operations of the system. The
form, design, and implementation of CPUs
have changed over the course of their history,
but their fundamental operation remains much
the same.

UPS OR uninterruptible power source is an
electrical apparatus that provides emergency
power to a load when the input power source,
typically mains power, fails.
A UPS differs from an auxiliary or emergency
power system or standby generator in that it
will provide near-instantaneous protection
from input power interruptions, by supplying
energy stored in batteries.

Random-access memory (RAM ) is a form of
computer data storage. A random-access
memory device allows data items to be read
and written in roughly the same amount of
time regardless of the order in which data
items are accessed.
In contrast in case of hard disks, CD-RWs, DVD-
RWs, the time required to read and write data
items varies significantly depending on their
physical locations & mechanical limitations.

Computer hardware is the collection of physical
elements that constitutes a computer system.
Computer hardware refers to the physical parts
or components of a computer such as the
monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data
storage, hard drive disk (HDD), system unit
(graphic cards, sound cards, memory,
motherboard and chips), etc. all of which are
physical objects that can be touched.

Computer software or simply software is any set
of machine-readable instructions that directs
a computer's processor to perform specific
operations.
Computer software includes computer programs,
libraries etc. and is stored in computer
memory and cannot be touched .
Computer hardware and software require each
other and neither can be realistically used
without the other.

A local area network (LAN) is a computer
network that interconnects computers within a
limited area such as a home, school, computer
laboratory, or office building, using network
media.
The defining characteristics of LANs include
their smaller geographic area.

Compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data
storage format.
The format was originally developed to store and
play only sound recordings (CD-DA), but was
later adapted for storage of data (CD-ROM).
Ameeta K . PGT Chemistry - ZIET Chandigarh
CompaCt DISC
DVD (sometimes explained as "digital video disc"
or "digital versatile disc") is a digital optical
disc storage format, invented and developed by
Philips, Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic in 1995
with more storage capacity than CD.
DVDs can be played in multiple types of players,
including DVD players.

A uniform resource locator (abbreviated URL;
also known as a web address, particularly
when used with http.) is a specific character
string that constitutes a reference to a
resource.
Most web browsers display the URL of a web
page above the page in an address bar.

Browser is a Software program that is required
to view web pages on the computer
It is a software application for retrieving,
presenting and traversing information
resources on the World Wide Web.
An information resource is identified by a
Uniform Resource Identifier (URI/URL)
Hyperlinks present in resources enable users
easily to navigate their browsers to related
resources.

A hard disk drive (HDD) is a data storage
device used for storing and retrieving
digital information.
An HDD retains its data even when powered
off. Data is read in a random-access
manner, meaning individual blocks of
data can be stored or retrieved in any
order rather than sequentially.
