America likes to believe there is such a thing as a melting pot, where everyone is equally treated
and everyone has the same opportunities for growth and achievement. America was not always like
this and instead it did not accept everyone. Everything was based merely on where an individual
was from, their skin color, their culture, and/or their backgrounds. It was a belief that one was
superior to others because of race. It was through laws that some of these issues were resolved but
one can argue that America still faces issues with understanding that not one is superior to another.

The general education teacher is the teacher of record, and is responsible for the child, even though
the child may have an IEP. In my personal experience at CordovaSchool High working teachers in
the special education department, most use the full Inclusion system given the title "Case
managers" a Special education teacher works with a General education teacher helping a student
with a disability to achieve his or her goals out line in an Individualize educational Planning (IEP).
This helps a child with disabilities to receive his or her educational achievement. In my own
personal experience as an instructional aide I have worked with many children receiving special
education services.
The job entitles me enter a classroom (mainstreamer) with another student in general education
classes such as science, math, and English. In my current job I work with two students' with a
cerebral syndrome of not walking, talking and loss of hand and eye coordination (taking notes)
becoming a scriber writing down information for students. This helps to ensure the student is
learning the material. Writing also gives him or her ways to understand, engage in dialog with
other peers and ask questions about the assignments as the teacher is speaking to the class. This for
me and the student is a great way to Aleve's stress as well as time management during a class period

Multiculturalism is the view on different cultures, races, and ethnics. America serves as the melting
pot where multiple cultures, religions, and ethnicities can coexist without the threat of violence. For
example, immigrants are able to obtain citizen ship and build their own businesses and promote

Multiculturalism" is the existence of a culturally diversified society where people from different

an influx of different cultures. The royal commission came up with the idea of "cultural pluralism"
and encouraged the government to reflect this in their policies. Pierre Elliot Trudeau, the prime
minster in 1917 accepted this policy called the multiculturalism policy. In 1988, the governement of
Canada also imposed the "Multiculturalism Act" . The factors influencing these two policies/acts
were quite similiar to one another. In mid–1960s, the troubled English–French realtions in Canada
desperately needed a solution. They preferred the idea of a cultural mosaic. After establishing this
policy racism reduced significantly as every ethnic group was to be treated the same way,
