Overview
Since	2013,	IT	salaries	have	increased	with	a	compound	annual	growth	rate	of	11.53%.	
The	most	expensive	technology	on	the	market	seems	to	be	Ruby	on	Rails,	with	other	niche	(and)	
newer	technologies	following	close	– e.g.	Python,	Node.js,	Hybris,	AWS/Azure.
Although	there	are	still	differences	for	lower	levels	of	experience	in	terms	of	salaries,	for	senior	roles	
(starting	from	+	4	years	of	experience)	the	gap	tends	to	narrow	independent	of	technology	and	
sometimes	independent	of	the	city.	
In	terms	of	benefits,	companies	have	started	to	match	the	desire	for	Remote	work	and	Flex-time	
where	we	see	the	gap	between	current	and	attractive	lower	every	year.	Some	new	differentiating	
points	seem	to	be	the	13th salary	and	Vacation	bonuses.	Although	IT	salaries	are	among	the	highest	
from	all	industries,	professionals	seem	to	still	value	financial	rewards	above	any	other	type	of	
benefit.

Salary	Evolution
The	graph	shows	the	salary	increase	based	on	the	
average	salary	of	each	year	(e.g.	average	salary	of	
2013/average	salary	of	2012)	=	-1.26%

Salary	structures	have	seen	a	constant	increase	for	
the	past	four	years.	The	small	exception	is	2012	to	
2013	- when	comparing	average	annual	salaries	for	
the	two	years,	we	see	rather	a	stagnation.	
After	2013,	there’s	been	a	constant	increase	in	salary	
levels	due	to	the	fact	that	before	there	was	a	
prolonged	stagnation	due	to	the	economic	crises	and	
subsequently,	large	centers	established	operations	on	
the	market.
