As per guidelines issued by UGC and Ministry of AYUSH, International Day of Yoga will be
celebrated at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry in a grand manner from 19-23 June 2017.
The extensively planned celebration of IDY 2017 at SBV includes:
1. Monday, 19.6.2017: Yoga awareness programme at MGMCRI, KGNC and IGIDS.
2. Tuesday, 20.6.2017: Mass awareness Yoga programme at Seliamedu HSS and RHTC
and at MGMCRI urban centre in collaboration with Community Medicine Dept.
3. Wednesday, 21.6.2017: International Day of Yoga celebrations with mass
demonstration on beach and different events by Tourism, Health and Education
departments with participation by CYTER team.
4. Thursday, 22.6.2017: Regional Level Yogasana Competitions for students of Health
Professions Educational institutions of the Puducherry region in association with
Pondicherry Yogasana Association.
5. Friday, 23.6.2017: National Seminar-cum-Workshop on “Role of Yoga in prevention,
management and rehabilitation of chronic diseases” with lectures, lecture-
demonstrations, workshops & panel discussion by eminent experts. Dr KK Aggarwal,
the National President of IMA has accepted to be Chief Guest & deliver Keynote.
We request you to kindly circulate this information amongst faculty and students of your
institution and facilitate their participation especially in the Regional Level Yogasana
Competition and National Workshop.

4. Regional Level Yogasana Competition
in association with Pondicherry Yogasana Association®
On 22nd June 2017 at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry
RULES OF THE YOGASANA COMPETITION
 Competitor must be current students of HPE institutions of the Puducherry region
and remit registration fee of Rs 100/- to CYTER on or before 15 June 2017.
 Competitor must perform all three compulsory Asanas and any two Asanas of their
own choice.
 There will be three categories: Below 20 years/ 20-25 years/ Above 25 years (as on
June 20, 2017) separately for male and female competitors.
 Three prizes and one consolation prize will be awarded in each category to the best
participants based on skill, grace, steadiness and balance.
 Judge’s decision is final and binding on all competitors.
