Consequent to the decision of the United Nations on 11 December, 2014 and with the
support of 177 nations, the first International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21 June,
2015. As per guidelines issued by UGC and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India,
the International Day of Yoga 2016 will be celebrated at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth,
Pondicherry in a grand manner from 19-21 June 2016 with public awareness programs,
Common Yoga Protocol demonstrations, Yogasana competitions and a National
Seminar on "Introducing Yoga in Health Professions Education".
We are organizing in collaboration with Department of Physiology, MGMCRI a
National Seminar on "Introducing Yoga in Health Professions Education" on 21 June
2016 at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry and cordially invite you to participate in this
grand event. Credit points and credit hours are awaited from TN MGR University & TNMC.
Many eminent Yoga and Medical experts will be participating as resource persons
including the inspiring Prof RL Bijlani from the Aurobindo Ashram, New Delhi and
the world renowned Ammaji, Yogacharini Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani of ICYER at
Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry.
Special attractions for this event include poster presentations on “Yoga and Positive
Health and an online essay competition on “Role of Yoga in Salutogenesis”. The poster
should be maximum size of 3x2 and will be displayed on 21 June 2016 during the CME
for presentation and evaluation by judges between 1 and 2pm. The essay must be
submitted before 15 June 2016 by email and be limited to a maximum of 2000 words. It
should be on A4 size paper with normal margins and 1.5 spacing between lines. Font
should be Times New Roman and 12 point. All submissions will be screened by
plagiarism software and those with scores more than 20% will not be considered for
evaluation.
