DIABETES
Medications and Supplies Take a Chunk Out of the Budget
Stretching the Budget
Some individuals may try to save money with their
expenses by cutting corners. They may choose to
skip a meal, so they do not have to take insulin.
Other individuals may also stop checking their blood
sugar regularly to save money on test strips. Cutting
corners may lead to uncontrolled diabetes. Patient
assistant programs are available to help with the
cost of medications and supplies. Ask your doctor
or diabetes educator about programs that may fit
your needs.
