Jeffery David Whippo States That Behavioral
Questions are a Way of Evaluating the Candidate’s
Future Performance
Jeffery David Whippo explains why behavioral interviews are
important. According to him, these interviews focus on asking questions
to identify past behaviors and successes that closely relate to situations
the candidates will encounter in the job they have applied for. Employers
usually ask behavioral questions because they are considered the most
effective way to get to know the person.
According to Whippo, such situational interview questions allow
employers to gather details that will help them make a strong hiring
decision. Moreover, these questions tend to relate to common themes
such as teamwork, leadership, conflict, and problem-solving.
Jeffery David Whippo further states that in order to be successful at
answering these situational interview questions, the candidates need to
be prepared to talk about their experiences, especially those related to
the job for which they are interviewing.
In order to help make the behavioral questions less obvious, mix them in
with some that focus on other goals, such as determining their
experience with specific systems. Any open-minded question has the
potential to provide the employees insights into the candidate’s
character, so try to follow that format whenever possible.
Jeffery D Whippo further shares that such questions are a way of
evaluating the candidate’s future performance based on his past
experience. The answer to such a question depends upon the past
experience of the employee or his professional history.
