Beck Technology is a 100 year old company that provides BIM services and patented software called DProfiler. DProfiler allows users to create a simple 3D model and conduct real-time cost, energy, and site analysis. It also provides proforma and real estate dashboards. DProfiler can be used early in conceptual design to analyze design options and their impacts. Examples shown include using DProfiler for a healthcare campus master plan, a hospital project, and renovation feasibility studies. DProfiler allows analyzing designs across various project types from the conceptual through construction phases.

Rather frequently as a team, we must begin working together with this level of information. A level of information that is wrought with unknowns, assumption, and variables that will affect the outcome of the project.

Our initial challenge was to define the multiple bldg types represented in the project. Dormitories, classroom bldgs, office/administrative bldgs. Etc. We used these project data sheets to capture high level assumptions with respect to each bldg type and the characteristics that we would find common across similar bldg types. Information such as interior partition ratios, finish types, foundation types, structural types, et.c
