5. The First Ever Self-Cleaning Eco-Village
At Cottage Grove Village, homes and buildings will not only have photovoltaic solar power, as well as geothermal HVAC
and passive solar technologies, the entire community will be a prototype for a mixed use master planned community unlike
any that has yet to be developed. An eco-village that contributes to its natural environment rather than infringing on it.
Cottage Grove Village’s green tech infrastructure is a combination of technologies that includes a community
integrated grey water filtering system of ponds, creeks, rivers and fountains. The building’s exterior is a revolutionary roof
and siding that has environmental cleaning properties called Reynobond with EcoClean: a new construction material from
Alcoa. The company says its “The nontoxic surface substance produces a reaction between oxygen and humidity when
exposed to natural or artificial ultraviolet light. The combination makes any surface to which the substance is applied a
water-loving surface that repels dirt and oils. In sunlight, the panels effectively zap organic pollutants that would otherwise
accumulate on the surface; once rendered harmless, is easily washed away with just water. “ The runoff would then be
absorbed into the ground and back into the grey water filtering system.

Each of the building complexes will be designed in styles reminiscent of historical designs from Neo-Classic
Spanish, Roman Italianate, French and Greek architecture to create the ultimate in a culturally vibrant and
educationally rich environment within indigenous landscaped gardens. Part of the infrastructure of the community
includes flowing creeks, ponds, fountains, waterfalls and a bridge covered canal through the main shopping and
dining district.

and connected through a series of creeks and canals that act as a natural water filtering system. Surrounding
the village will be a natural greenbelt of organic agriculture which will be leased to local growers for wine
