developers because the tools for creating the layouts and graphics keeps on
changing frequently. Another concept that has been gaining priority recently
in the design process is creating of visual screen layouts or skeletal
frameworks for the website. It is the activity that should be implemented
before the phase of creative designing and after the site architecture has
been finalized by the technical teams. Many overlook this step thinking it as
an unnecessary process and jump directly to the designing part. However,
what they don't realize is deciding on the layouts of functional elements and
site structure is far more important than working on aesthetics like adding
color, graphics, style and other things.

3. How a wireframe should look?
Creating wireframes is complex than you have realized because it requires
more analytical skills to work on the structural frameworks which sometimes
may include sketches of screen designs, functional blocks or flow charts. In
general, people have many options when creating wireframes – it can be
simple man made layouts or by using software to display them in a more
creative manner. Irrespective of the procedure used to create them, broadly
wireframes are simple black and white pencil sketches without any real
colors or graphic designs included in them. They are more like blue prints
incorporating detailed skeletal frameworks of different elements of the
navigation process and design interface. No logos or any real design elements
are included except the structural boundaries of various page elements and
real content that has been written to include in the pages.

Optimize the layouts
We all know that, there are very few websites with single page structures.
Websites typically consist of a single homepage and multiple inner pages.
Some of the inner pages may carry the same standard formats whereas the
homepage generally contains more graphics and navigational menus. When
making wireframes, there is no need to create layouts for each structure
instead it can be optimized in the form of reusable blocks. For instance if
there is a standard header for all pages at the top, then you can add the same
block at the top of your wireframe design, instead of redoing it every time.
• Use the real content
A well structured wireframe is always created using the real content in order
to avoid the confusion in making the design decisions that will affect the

5. presentation of the page. Content that is written well and displayed in a
structural manner, will give professional look to the website yielding in better
design and good user experience. Hence, it is not a good idea to be negligent
on the content as it is the main element that helps in interacting with the
users.
Consider flow and navigation
Creating a design without proper page flow and navigation elements to other
pages makes no sense to the users who are coming to the website with
certain expectations. So when creating layouts for wireframes, make sure the
content and page elements are arranged correctly so that user follows it
easily without any confusion. Make the page flow smooth by following the
standard format - moving from the top with logo & header, then to the top
