1. BRIDGES ∑ F = 0Sum of Forces equal zeroConceptual Physics Lab acloutier 2011 copyright Suspension, beam, truss & arch
2. Suspension - bridge having roadways suspended from cables that are anchored at either end and usually supported at intervals by towers(Milau Viaduct tallest bridge in world built 2004)
13. RUBRIC:1. Draw a design off the top of your head. Make a plan/ pick a partner or chose to work alone2. Materials are plastic straws, limited glue and paper clips3. Tools are scissors, a glue gun with only two glue sticks4. Illustrate the completed bridge showing force/ tension /vectors gravity, weight N (newtons), and where ∑F=0 is the sum5. Do the physics vector and include the magnitude and distance for one specific section of the bridge.(Use graph paper if you like)6. Include a top and side view of the bridge7. Three days 90 minute effort each, any additional materials you will need to supply*Document process at the end of each of the three days
