Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Ms. Joachim was a participant in the genesis of the mar-
keting department at PLATINUM Technology, a software provider of enterprise products. While at
PLATINUM, Ms. Joachim directed dozens of successful international and domestic initiatives,
managed outside agencies, and supervised a staff of thirty people. As a former Senior Analyst at
Covia, now Galileo International, she worked with the group that developed airline reservation
products deployed to thousands of customers worldwide. Ms. Joachim began her career at a soft-
ware provider of computerized language translation products, Weidner Communications, where she
was an account executive for the company’s governmental and corporate clients.
Ms. Joachim is a frequent contributor to the American Marketing Association’s Marketing News
publication. Her industry awards for marketing and communications include the prestigious Business
Week and Marketing Computers Gold Icon Award, and several Society for Technical Communica-
tions awards.
Ms. Joachim has had extensive international experience, specifically in the Middle East and North
Africa, and with corporations entering the emerging China market. Academic credentials and
awards include: M.A. from the University of Michigan in Near Eastern Studies (Arabic); Bachelor of
Arts degree from Oakland University in English; a National Defense Language Fellowship for study at
the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; and two U.S. Office of Education fellowships for study
abroad at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and in Tunisia.
