Say: Activity indicators appear in the Audio, Whiteboard, Application Sharing, and Video Camera privilege columns in the Participants window when a delay has occurred and the participant has not received the information. The activity indicators are dynamic and will be updated and visible to all moderators throughout the session. By keeping an eye on these indicators, you can adjust the pace of your session. Points to Cover: The User Profile feature allows moderators and participants to publish information about them and to view information provided by others. Do: Make sure you have setup your User Profile. Encourage participants to setup a User Profile and view other participant’s profiles. Say: We encourage you to setup a User Profile. To do so select Profile from the Tools menu. You should also encourage your participants to create a profile. User Profiles can be used as a social networking tool. They encourage communities to develop naturally in the online environment and add a human touch to the session by displaying your picture. As the moderator you have control over the distribution of the User's Profile. You can decide whether you want no one to see the profiles, to display only the moderator profiles, or every ones user profile. To view a user's profile, hover your mouse over a name in the Participants window. Their profile information (if any) will be displayed as a tool tip. Note: Profiles are stored locally. Don’t have to recreate each time Importing and Exporting a vCard file. Instead of creating a new user profile to be used in an Elluminate Live! session, you may import a vCard. The advantage of importing a vCard is that it saves you from having to manually re-enter data that you need. You can also export the User Profile into a vCard file.

Progress: Progress bar is a status indicator for each participant and moderator indicating the overall progress of deploying the file to the participants. It shows a graph with red, orange, yellow, cyan, and green bars. Red: number of users who have less than 50% of the file, Orange: users with less than 75%, Yellow: users with less than 95%, Cyan: users with less than 99% and Green is 100% complete. Say: Practice with two computers – one with you as the moderator and another logged in as a participant. As you work with your presentation, look at the participant computer to see what they are seeing. Animate your delivery. Since you can’t use body language to engage with your participants you must energize your voice. Visualize your participants or view their profiles or even turn on live video. It is important to remember you have real live people on the other end of your delivery. Having a visual image of each participant will help you create an engaging learning environment. Provide plenty opportunities for interactivity and collaboration. Ask Yes/No questions and multiple choice polls. Ask participants to respond with applause or laughter. Get them using the Direct Messaging window with introductions and brainstorming exercises. Do: Use the Whiteboard tool to check off each tip as you explain them.
