Cannes2016 saw over 13,500 delegates attend the 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity over 8 days. There were 43,000 submissions across 24 categories including film, print, outdoor, and digital craft. Juries comprised of 387 people awarded 90 Lions including 10 Gold, 22 Silver, and 58 Bronze. Cannes Lions this year highlighted how the advertising industry is expanding capabilities across many new channels and blurring lines between creative, media, and PR. Artificial intelligence was also a major theme as judges rewarded projects that made creative use of machine learning.
