1. Sathit Keng Chay Arriwong – Career Profile
With over 20 years of international experience with multi-national agencies, Leo
Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis, KC Arriwong has covered 3 continents
from America to Asia to Europe. He has previously held ECD positions with
Saatchi Taiwan, Publicis HK and Leo Burnett China where he was National ECD.
He was most recently Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Vietnam.
In 2002, during his time as ECD in Taiwan, Saatchi & Saatchi was ranked top
creative agency in Greater China region according to Media magazine. Arriwong
helped bring AdFest Silver, Times Asia-Pacific Awards Golds and Silvers, Media
Spikes Silver, 4A’s, D&AD, New York Festivals, One Show and London
International awards to the Taiwan office.
On a personal note, Arriwong has won international awards in markets he’s
worked on, including Cannes, EPICA (Best in Europe), Clio, D&AD, One Show,
Communication Arts, New York Festivals, New York Art Director’s Club Silver,
Media Spikes Silver (Asia-Pacific), 4A’s Taiwan, Communication Arts, 4A’s HK
Bronzes, London International Advertising Awards, Kreatura (Poland), Golden
Drum Gold and Silvers (New Europe), and C de C Best Print Campaign (Spain).
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Advertising,
he started as an Art Director with Leo Burnett Chicago in 1991 where he worked
on classic brands like Kraft foods, Kellogg’s cereal, Procter & Gamble, Miller Lite
beer, Unocal 76 gas, Rockport shoes, Philip Morris and Sony. Subsequently, he
held Senior Creative and Creative Director roles at Leo Burnett’s Ho Chi Minh
City, Warsaw and Madrid offices. He also had a brief stint at DY&R Bangkok
where he and his team pitched and won the Samsung Plano account. In 2002,
Craig Davis hired him to join Saatchi & Saatchi Taiwan.
Between 2002 and 2008, Arriwong spent 7 years in Greater China region. Some
of the clients he worked on included P&G, UBS (Regional CD), Western Union,
Fidelity, McDonalds, Venetian Sands Macau, GM Cadillac, FarEasTone, Wei
Chuan beverage.
Arriwong has judged for the 7th AdFest in Thailand and China Times Asia Pacific
award in Taiwan. In 2004, he decided to take a break from big agency to start his
own creative boutique, Carbon8 in Taiwan, to explore other creative avenues
such as graphic design, digital and film directing. During that time, his directing
2. and creative works won a Silver at China Times and Shortlisted at One Show,
and were selected and published in Archive and Campaign Brief Asia.
KC gets excited about ideas, and believes that a good idea transcends
langauges and culture. He champions warmth and subtle humor in his work. He
is half Thai and travels with a Singapore passport.
