2. Future-rich will start (eventually successful)
business, or start investing from first pay check
#1
Crude number
crunching. An average
worker with an
average career who
invests a little every
month can save good
sums
3. Value of Compounding
Early discipline of putting aside
investment savings is important.
Mutual funds or index funds are easy
and safe investments.
Do it consistently and ignore short
term losses.
Value of compounding kicks in after a
few years.
4. You have a clean slate at first job. Follow your
effort and be great at something
#2
Become a go-to person of a skill or technology or
process.
Keep specializing, its not a good idea to
generalize early in career.
Respect seniors, but analyze what they teach
you.
5. Age of Average is over. Only life- long learners will
be well employed. Choose books over burgers
#3
Why does a call center hire A-levels student
and a 40 year old at same salary?
If everyone around you is doing exactly the
same thing, you are a factory worker.
Make your neighboring burger shop owner
rich or invest in books. Later has more
chances of making you money.
6. Sitting at home is for cats. Dogs go out and
hustle. Be a dog!
#4
7. People quit bosses, not the company. Do not
work for an incapable boss
#5
Capability and intelligence trumps many
cards. Do not compromise on capability.
Not a good sign if your boss make others lift
his bag.
Your boss should ask hard questions but
with respect. Absence of either is bad,
absence of both is really bad
8. An organization with a confrontational
culture has got it wrong. Do not work there
#6
Do not confuse confrontation with being told when you are
wrong or slack.
Tolerate some confrontation but not all the time.
A company with capable talent does not need confrontation in
general.
9. Waist grows much faster than bank account
and shrinks much slower. Manage your health#7
Skinny or not, sitting down will make you
fat. Its hard to reverse that.
Health has a declining hockey growth. Stop
missing breakfasts.
Make a habit of regular testing: Blood
glucose, Cholesterol and Blood Pressure.
10. Game of thrones will not last forever, neither
will any job. Its ok to pursue excitement at
other places
#8
You will get fired from some job one day. Do
not make that a remorse.
Capability and skills matter more than
current designation.
You are best judge if your company and you
have a mutually beneficial relationship.
11. A child in suit is still a child. No use of being a
cry baby. Do your best in a tough situation
#9
12. Email writing and reading is very hard skill to
master. It will cost you relations and money
#10
Avoid Emotional Emails (if you can).
Always proof read before sending.
Personal interaction is much better. Its hard to yell or hug in
person.
Not an escape tool. Sending emails does not get actual work
done.
