4. WHAT IS RESEARCH?
 Albert Sent- Gyorgy, Nobel Prize
laureate, 1937, said that
―Research is four things: brains with which to
think, eyes with which to see, machines with which
to measure, and money.‖

5. DEFINITION OF RESEARCH
 The word research is composed of two syllables, re and
search.
 Re is a prefix meaning again, anew, over again
 Search is a verb meaning to examine closely and carefully, to
test and try, or to probe.
 ―Research is a systematic process, utilizing the
scientific method for generating new knowledge that
can be used to solve a problem or to improve the
existing status of a system‖.

 The students shall be placed under an able guide
across any reputed centre across the country for a
period of two months.
