has inspired you, affected you, impacted on you, and what does it remind you
of.
Example one:
While watching the video on ‘The Effects of Scamming on Victims,’ I was overwhelmed by
different emotions. The video portrayed the family of a victim who was expressing how
scamming led their family member to suicide. Initially, I felt extremely ashamed because
Jamaica is my country and is branded as ‘scamming capital.’ It is quite disturbing to see these
happenings in my country. I was also empathetic towards the victims as they suffered a great
loss. Vulnerable and older people seem to be the target, as the video showed. The video also
showed the despair of both the families and the victims who are often left with nothing. This
video has inspired me to speak against scamming as it is wrong and can cause serious physical
and psychological damages to the victims and their families who are often left to pick up the
pieces. This video reminded me of the infamous Cash Plus scandal which affected hundreds of
Jamaicans in a negative way.
Example two:
The poem has inspired me to contribute more to the alleviation of the existing problem of
cyberbullying. It placed me in the position of the person being bullied and I am sympathetic
towards their situation. It made me reflect on the things that I have done and how I contributed
to the problem.
Example five:
Upon reading the article ‘Oppression and Women’s History’, I was really taken aback. It really
opened my eyes and sensitized me about the issues and ordeals that women have to go through.
This article explains the many forms in which women are oppressed and it really shocked me to
read how they are subjected to such cruelty and brutalities just because they are women and are

2. seen as less in the society in which we live in. However, it doesn’t only go into modern oppression,
it also went into detail about how women would have been held down by men throughout the
course of history. This allowed me to better understand why some things are the way they are
today, because as many people say, history repeats itself and I believe that it also builds upon itself.
Example six:
After watching the video on “The 7th Commandment”, I came to realize how easy it is for a
person to commit adultery. The video illustrated how difficult it is to repair the “sacred bond”
between a husband and a wife God made the 7th commandment which is “You shall not commit
adultery” to prohibit this means that we should protect ourselves by preventing wrong influences
and that even though a person may be physical with his or her spouse their hearts may be
emotionally, mentally, and spiritually elsewhere. This video had me in amazement as I could
have related every detail that was said to my society today. The video has inspired me to speak
out about adultery because it is a sin as it was stated in the Bible as stated in the bible it is a sin,
so the best way to defend your marriage is to nurture it and invest time and effort into it.
