Two humans, Jack and Alice, are shipwrecked on an island with their baby John. They are attacked by an ape and John is left orphaned. An ape named Kala finds John and raises him as her own, naming him Tarzan. Tarzan grows up believing he is an ape until he meets a human girl, Jane, who shows him he is actually human.
