This document discusses attractors and detractors of leadership. It provides instructions for individuals or groups to reflect on what attracts and detracts people to leadership by identifying admirable leaders and their attractive traits, leaders who are not admired and their detracting traits, and traits that attract or detract people to their own leadership. The purpose is to help understand what effective leadership looks like.

To understand what leadership looks like.
It is important for members of your team to identify what
leadership “looks like”. While leadership is hard to define,
identifying characteristics or traits of individuals that
attract others to us, or push people away can clarify
attractive leadership.
Reflect on and answer the following questions as a small
group, position group, with a partner/ teammate, as a
coaching staff or by yourself.
After you have completed the questions discuss your
answers in a group or with a teammate/ staff member.
