What are the five senses?
- the responsible system in the body for the five senses is
the nervous system.
- these senses make the body react.
- these sense intensify an experience.
- it makes reading more
relatable and more vivid to
the readers.
- it helps characterize
and desribe.

- is one of the many methods of human communication.
- it may either be spoken or written.
- it involves different styles
and techniques to successfully
convey whatever message.

Imagery
- it requires a lot of vivid descriptions.
- it helps writing become clear and
vivid.
- it helps set the mood and the
emotion about people, places, and
circumstances.
SENSORY
IMPRESSIONS
Sensory Impressions
- are what you call vivid or clear
descriptions.
- these impressions should appeal to
the five senses that all humans have.
- These impressions will help your
readers relate
with you from any experience that you personally had.
KINDS OF IMAGERY
Visual
is a picture in words; something
that is concrete and can be seen.

is something that you can hear
through your mind's ears.

is something that you can smell
through your mind's nose.

Gustatory
is something that you can taste
through your mind's tongue.

cherries are served on a tray”
Tactile
is something that you can touch
with your mind's skin.
“Just wanna feel your kiss
against my lips”

Thermal
is something that depicts
temperature.

ANALOGY
Analogy
- it is comparing a certain situation
to another situation that has
nothing to do with each other.
- it is necessary for the readers to
be able to have a clearer
understanding of the text.
-it compares the relationship between two things or
ideas to highlight some point of similarity.
- It is a way to clarify an idea or an unfamiliar concept by
comparing it to something familiar.
Examples:
1. Getting the chance to now you is as
good as winning the jackpot in a game show.
2. Living with you was as good as
committing suicide.
3. The pain that you have caused me is
the fire to my very own hell.
4. You became a thief in the night when
you left without saying goodbye.
5. I raised the white flag, because the
responsibility was already becoming a burden
to me.
Assignment:
1. Choose a partner.
2. Choose from among the the 7 kinds of imagery.
3. Once you have done choosing, compose a song that is faithful to
your chosen kind or type of imagery.
4. The song must be composed of 5 stanzas
following this format:
1st- Stanza I
2nd- Chorus
3rd- Stanza II
4th- Chorus
5th- Bridge

The Five Senses, Language, Imagery, and Analogy

  • 2. What are the five senses? - the responsible system in the body for the five senses is the nervous system. - these senses make the body react. - these sense intensify an experience. - it makes reading more relatable and more vivid to the readers. - it helps characterize and desribe.
  • 4. What is Language? - is one of the many methods of human communication. - it may either be spoken or written. - it involves different styles and techniques to successfully convey whatever message.
  • 7. Imagery - it requires a lot of vivid descriptions. - it helps writing become clear and vivid. - it helps set the mood and the emotion about people, places, and circumstances.
  • 9. Sensory Impressions - are what you call vivid or clear descriptions. - these impressions should appeal to the five senses that all humans have. - These impressions will help your readers relate with you from any experience that you personally had.
  • 11. Visual is a picture in words; something that is concrete and can be seen.

Analogy - it is comparing a certain situation to another situation that has nothing to do with each other. - it is necessary for the readers to be able to have a clearer understanding of the text. -it compares the relationship between two things or ideas to highlight some point of similarity. - It is a way to clarify an idea or an unfamiliar concept by comparing it to something familiar.
