Immunohistochemical examination of the level of neuroendocrine differentiation
1. IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL EXAMINATION OF THE LEVEL OF NEUROENDOCRINE DIFFERENTIATION IN COLORECTAL ADENOCARCINOMA Mentor: M.Sc. MD DanjelaBatinicSkipina Authors: NenadTodorovic Snezana Milosevic
2. IntroductionAim Method Results Conclusion Colorectal cancer is the third most frequent cancer in both sexes and the second leading cause of malignant diseases-related death in developed countries. Neuroendocrine cells which develop from stem endodermal cells represent 2% of the total number of epithelial colon cells.
3. Introduction Aim Method Results Conclusion Most of neuroendocrine cells in colon mucosa are localized in distal third of Lieberhühn’s crypt. A great number of neuroendocrine cells are registered in benign tumours (adenoma) and in the ulcerative colitis as precancerous state of colon.
4. Introduction Aim Method Results Conclusion Detection of neuroendocrine fields of small cell carcinoma appearance which determines the biological behaviour of adenocarcinoma has a special significance . A great number of neuroendocrine cells is detected on the inavsive edge of tumour and on the transitional mucosa.
5. Hypothesis There are numerous cells of endocrine features in the parenchyma of colorectal carcinoma. Number of neuroendocrine cells in adenocarcinoma is in correlation with the stage of disease and other patohistological parametres of unfavourable prognosis.
6. IntroductionAim Method Results Conclusion Analysis of neuroendocrine cells participation in colorectal carcinoma. Analysis of correlation between neuroendocrine differentiation level and the stage of disease and other patohistological characteristics of colorectal adenocarcinoma.

8. Patients did not receive preoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
9. All patients in the study were involved regardless of their sex, age or stage of disease.
