The crucial issues in present era in the science and technology library are, space and technology. The physical space in library is either reducing or it can be said that the requirement has been increasing in the recent time, and also the digital technology is rising phenomenally. Creative Integration of Space and Technology can enhance collaborative partnership among faculty, students and librarians to inspire active learning through the exploration of various resources and tools available from libraries. User awareness of such services is absolutely critical and this integration can help develop this awareness. To deal with this matter, the presentation tries to discuss in detail about different aspects of the above mentioned two important areas of library viz., Space and Technology. For reviewing it, the examples of advanced libraries of different countries have been included to showcase the measures being taken up by them to overcome the problems of the space and technology pertaining in the library. Through this presentation, an attempt has been made for enhancement of administration of the library management as well as for providing better user services.

Past the First Bend in the Road: Reflections on the Development of Digital Scholarship Programs from Five Institutions. The University of Maryland presentation portion from the DLF Forum 2013 in Austin Texas. Abstract: Each of the five institutions represented on this panel has recently participated in a project or initiative that expands the reach and function of their respective digital scholarship programs. These programs are now past the first bend in the road and all are working through the challenges of increased responsibility and expectation that follow any successful start-up phase. Panel members will address the topic of sustaining new initiatives through their particular institutional experiences ranging from building communities to creating unified library spaces to integrating with a new campus curriculum. After brief presentations, the panel will engage in a moderated discussion with the audience to identify and address strategies for meeting the logistical and organizational challenges of novel endeavors in libraries.

Reimagining Your Library Space: Looking at What Really Matters

The College of the Rockies is undertaking an initiative to enhance the student experience through the creation of a "learning commons" consisting of engaging and supportive space(s), services, partnerships and technologies that will facilitate progressive learning, teaching and campus connections and experiences for all students, employees and the larger regional community. To start the progress, the Library is hosting a series of community engagement sessions to gather stakeholder input to understand users' needs, requirements and preferences to improve library operations, user experiences and future partnership and expansion requirements. The goal of the stakeholder sessions is to begin the conversation with the College of the Rockies community about how the existing library is, or is not, meeting your needs (for spaces, services, resources, technologies, etc.) and how you would like to see it evolve. The input gathered at these sessions will drive the design decisions to determine how best to move the Library forward and enhance the student learning experience at the College of the Rockies. During the fifth and final community engagement session, we provided a full summary of all the community input we have gathered during the previous sessions. All of this input will help us answer the main discussion question; how does the library move forward into a new one-stop shop "learning commons" that will merge key student success and support services within a 21st Century learning community?
