What is a web browser?
A Web browser is actually a software
application that runs on your Internet-
connected computer.
It allows you to view Web pages, as well as
use other content and technologies such as
video, graphics files, and digital certificates,
to name a few.

There are different web browsers that are
available and in use today:
- Internet Explorer,
- Mozilla,
- Mozilla Firefox,
- Netscape,
- Safari,
- Opera

Some common features that are included
with web browsers are spell checkers, search
engine toolbars, download managing,
password managing, bookmark managing,
etc.
Accessibility features that may be included
with many web browsers include page
zooming, ad filtering, pop-up blocking, tabbed
browsing, etc.

There are a number of different technologies
that are supported with many web browsers.
Some of them are frames, Java, RSS, SVG,
WML, and XHTML.
Support for different languages by web
browsers include English, Arabic, German,
Dutch, Swedish, Chinese, French, Spanish,
etc.

an individual’s needs by utilizing web
browser accessories that are not included
with the initial browser software.
These applications are referred to as “plug-
ins”, and a few of the more popular ones
are QuickTime, RealPlayer, Shockwave, as
well as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
