2. The Maschio Angioino
The Maschio Angioino
The Maschio Angioino is probably the most famous medieval
castle of Naples with Castel dell'Ovo.
It was built on order of Charles I of Anjou in 1266 in the current
Piazza del Municipio and now houses the Museo Civico.

3. Piazza del Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito changed many times its
structure: in the Seventeenth century the Royal
Palace was built by the architect Domenico Fontana,
and many religious buildings were demolished in the
Nineteenth century, widening the square
4. Umberto Gallery
On the way to reach San
Severo Chapel, we took a
break in Galleria Umberto,
where the students
bought food and drinks,
took pictures or just sat
at the tables of the
Cafeteria to rest.
5. Along tha way to San Severo Chapel,where we
went to see the statue of “Cristo Velato”, we saw
a demonstration for a better life condition of
immigrants in Italy
6. Cristo Velato
Cristo Velato
The Cristo Velato is a marble sculpture by Giuseppe
Sanmartino, preserved in the San Severo Chapel.
Made in 1753, it is considered one of the greatest
masterpieces of ever and attracts thousands of visitors
each year
7. We went out from San Severo and moved to a
restaunt, where at last we could eat a Neapolitan
pizza.
8. We finished our lunch at 3 and the teachers let us have 20
minutes of “freedom” before coming back to Rome. A lot of
us went to the closest confectioner's to buy typical
Neapolitan specialities like Babà, Zeppole, Pastiera and
Sfogliatelle; other students went to buy some souvenirs for
themselves and their families, or to walk along the
beautiful streets of Naples.
9. At 3:40 we reached the coach and left for Rome at about 4.
During the journey, some students chatted, some sang,
some listened to music, took pictures or slept.
More than 3,30 hours later, the coach stopped in front of
our school, in Rome. We thanked the driver and the
