– Brake pressures
– Wire ropes – UT following change for re-use
– Drive splines
– Structural NDT inspection
28. Crane Technical Reviews
•
•
•
•
•
•
Specifications - Provide engineering assistance to compile appropriate specifications
for New Cranes & Refurbished Cranes that meet the platform / lift requirements of the
customer.
Maintenance Strategy Reviews - Develop or review a comprehensive crane
maintenance strategy based upon applicable legislation (e.g. API RP 2D ) and/or FMEA
/ FMECA type studies
Load Chart Verification - A comprehensive review of existing load radius charts and
revision where necessary to comply with legislation and equipment specifications.
Lift Procedures - The provision of lifting method statements for critical lifts (e.g. Lift
Plans)
Documentation Compliance - Provision of personnel to review and collate
documentation associated with offshore cranes. This review would include compliance
with current regulations, specifications, and customer requirements.
Platform Lifting Management Review - A comprehensive review of how crane
and lifting operations are managed on offshore installations and the ability to provided
plans to increase worker safety, efficiency, and reduce down time.
29. Crane Modification
Performance Upgrades - The design, supply, and
installation of components to improve the
performance (lifting capabilities) of the crane in
either a speed or capacity aspect
Safety Upgrades - The design, supply, and
installation of components to enhance the
crane’s safety
Reliability Upgrades - The re-engineering of crane
components to replace items that are either
obsolete, of inferior quality or that are underspecified
30. Jacking Solutions
•
Some objects are too large, unstable or
inaccessible to be moved by cranes. In such cases,
jacking systems are the appropriate handling
solution – and Sparrows have the experience to
design and deliver them
•
Our expertise in the field of having to jack up
entire cranes, atop tall pedestals, in the offshore
environment provides a specialized engineering
solution to allow for inspection or change out of
the crane slew bearing
•
Wherever jacking solutions can overcome weight,
stability or confined space problems, Sparrows
are equipped to develop solutions
31. Skidding Solutions
•
In cases where platform cranes do not have sufficient reach or capacity to allow
loads to be moved around a platform deck, Sparrows have developed skidding
solutions to meet the client’s requirements
•
The hydraulically-controlled “skid claw” developed by Sparrows permits
accurate and controlled movement of the loads with minimal specialized
equipment
•
Sparrows can also integrate the skidding solutions within an overall mechanical
handling solution package
32. Parts Refurbishment
•
•
•
•
Sparrows can provide competent and skilled personnel to refurbish proprietary
crane components
