He is currently working for the IBM Software group where he is leading a community of Social Software Ambassadors helping spread the message on the potential impact that social computing has within the areas of finding expert information and changing the knowledge sharing culture. Martha Thorne, Executive Director , the Pritzker Architecture Prize 14:00 – 14:30 The Design of Tomorrow Martha Thorne Martha Thorne has been Executive Director of the Pritzker Architecture Prize since 2005. In that capacity she works closely Executive Director, Pritzker with the jury; however, she does not vote in the proceedings. Currently she is Associate Dean for External Relations at IE Architecture Prize School of Architecture in Madrid, Spain. She served as Associate Curator of the Department of Architecture at The Art Institute of Chicago from 1996 to 2005. Åsa holds a BA in Landscape John Tobin Architecture and a Masters in Supply Chain Management. Global Head of Sutainability Affairs, Credit Suisse John Tobin, Global Head of Sustainability Affairs, Credit Suisse Dr. Tobin is Global Head of Sustainability Affairs, and has responsibility for managing environmental and social matters at Credit Suisse. He joined Credit Suisse from Clifford Chance in New York, where he was a corporate attorney focusing on Anne Wallin cross-border financial transactions. He holds a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University as well as a J.D. from Director, EH&S and Harvard Law School. He obtained his B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, from UCLA. Dr. Tobin is member of the board of Sustainability EMEA, Dow directors of the Organization for Tropical Studies and of the Private Sector Advisory Group of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction. Wallin, Director, EH&S and Sustainability (EMEA), The Dow Chemical Company Dr. Wallin is responsible for Environment, Health and Safety and Sustainability services for EMEA region in the areas of Toxicology, Product Safety and Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Sustainability. Meier Johnny Chen is Chief Executive Office, Asia Pacific General Insurance of Zurich Insurance Group. Mr. Chen is also a member CEO Asia, Julis Baer of the Leadership Team and of the Asia Pacific Committee of the Group. Prior to joining Zurich, Mr. Chen was an executive member of the Greater China Management Board and of the Operating Committee of PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”). He was also the Managing Partner of PwC’s Beijing office. Mr. Chen has also been a Director of the American Chamber of Yunsong Xing Sutter Commerce in China since 1995. Lang, Asia Expert Lang worked at several national and international organizations including the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Session 2: Asia’s Natural Disasters Johnny Chen the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the International Committee of the Red Cross as well as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. From his Hong Kong base, he oversaw Swiss Re’s rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific business, which covers both the Property & Casualty as well as the Life & Chairman Global Partnerships, Health sectors. He continued to serve as a member of the Group Management Board, which he joined in September 2005 as Swiss Re Global Head of Life and Health Products. Blaise Godet, former Swiss Ambassador to China Session 3: Political Risks in Asia Blaise Godet Blaise Godet has a law degree from the University of Neuchatel and is qualified as a lawyer. He started his professional career former Ambassador to China in one of the big Swiss banks and entered the diplomatic service in 1974. Prior of being appointed Ambassador to China, Mongolia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in 2008, he served as Ambassador in over 8 countries as well as at Simon Tay Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. National University of Singapore Stephan Titze Simon Tay, Professor, National University of Singapore Simon Tay is a professor of international law at the National University of Singapore, chairman of the Singapore Institute of CEO, Syngenta China International Affairs think-tank, and Senior Consultant at Wong Partnership, a leading Singaporean law firm with practice in Southeast Asia, China and the Middle East. As an academic, he has published internationally and taught at Harvard Law School, Yale and the Fletcher School and his 2009 book Asia Alone: The Dangerous Post-Crisis Divide from America was Speakers favorably reviewed in The Economist and The Financial Times. Stephan Titze, CEO China, Syngenta Thomas R. Meier, CEO Asia, Julius Baer Stephan Titze has been in China for the last 6 years, leading the growth track for the Syngenta Crop protection business. Mr. Thomas R. Meier has been CEO and Member of the Executive Board of Bank Julius Baer & Co since 2011.
