What is a weblog?
It is an online journal that an individual can continuously update with his or her
own words, ideas, and thoughts through software that enables one to easily do so.
Weblog entries are made by typing directly into the browser and with the click of a
button are instantly published on the internet.
According to the author what are the 3 types of weblogs for use in ESL?
Describe them.
1.- The tutor blog: This is a type of weblog that is run by the tutor for the learners..
It has different purposes such as give daily reading in order to practice, it also
promotes to students visit some English websites, it provides syllabus information.
In other words it brings a more close interaction with students.
2.- The learner blog: constructing the blog may encourage the use of search
engines and net surfing in English to find the appropriate sites to which links can
be made. Students can get writing practice, develop a sense of ownership, and get
experience with the practical, legal, and ethical issues of creating a hypertext
document. In addition, whatever they write can instantly be read by anyone else
and, due to the comment features of the software, further exchange of ideas is
promoted.
3.- the class blog: this type of blog is a result of the collaborative effort of an entire
class.
What is a learning blog?
it is a space where every person that wants to learn about some specific subject
can interchange information about topics related to the class, websites, books,
articles, material that can help to develop the knowledge.

A site where teachers and students can interactive each other and have a close
communication about the class. They can interchange information related to the
subject.
