             know.

Sponge Spicules
        • Sponges are heterotrophic
          animals that are sessile as
          adults.
        • Sponges are metazoans
          having no true tissue.
        • The sponge body is made of
          various cells in a spongin
          matrix with spicules of
          calcium carbonate or silica
          for structure and formation.

   (stinging celled animals)
• Cnidarians are primitive heterotrophic diploblastic (two
  layered) animals of marine and freshwater
  environments. They capture prey using nematocysts
  (stinging cells) containing cnidoblasts and nematocysts.
