1. Emerging Trends in
Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
PRESENTED BY JEFF SHUCK

2. Hi! Thanks for checking out the slides for the session.
At this presentation, we’ll discuss a few fascinating trends in peer-to-peer:
• Data-accelerated segmentation: We’ll go beyond banal references to “big data” and look at practical
applications of how large-scale data matching can help surface new segments.
• Network mapping: Everyone is talking about network maps, although very few organizations are using
them in practice. We’ll look at maps of peer-to-peer networks and discuss how they can be applied to
increase giving.
• Multivariate motivations: We’ve been working on a model to explain why programs catch fire (ice
buckets, anyone?) and why others don’t. The short version is, there isn’t just one factor. We’ll share it and
discuss the implications.
Long story short, it is going to be a great session.
I’ll be updating the presentation several times between now and the conference, and the final slides will be
available after the presentation at www.plentyconsulting.com.
I hope to see you at bbcon on Tuesday at 10:45!
