2. John Bock – Research Task
John Bock was the
artist I chose for my
research task. Marlit – John
Bock
Bock is a German artist
who is famous for his
live performances that
are called ‘lectures’ .
His ‘lectures’ consist of
handcrafted
environments made
from found objects to
represent some
symbolic settings.
I wasn’t really into his
work but I could what
he was trying to do.
3. Newspaper Article
In this project we were required to create a
sculpture inspired by an article from that days
newspaper.
I found inspiration from the section called Today
in History – 23 February.
1954 – The first mass inoculation of children against
polio with Salk vaccine began in Pittsburgh.
5. A Found Object
This project required us to create a sculpture from
objects found at the dump
After my trip I returned with:
Old board games
3 floppy disks
A keyboard
A mantle clock
7. Aluminium Casting
My final project for Sculpture was to
produce a aluminium sculpture.
To achieve the final piece Styrofoam
moulds were crafted and then set in
sand boxes.
Once at the right temperature molten
aluminium was poured over the
Styrofoam runners and left to cool.
Lastly the sculptures needed to be
filed backed and polished.
And now I have two aluminium
mushrooms that I made sitting on my
windowsill.
