Introduction
 In this course the students are learning English as a
  second language. It develops the fundamental
  grammar comprehension through explanations and
  variety of application exercises in order to lead them
  to communicative performances when speaking and
  writing as well as understanding the language in
  listening and reading activities. This course promotes
  vocabulary acquisition, especially that within the
  students’ technological area, computer field and daily
  life.

 Explain how to use the correct word order in a
  sentence.
 To define how to enrich their vocabulary words in
  English.
 Explain how to capitalize words correctly in a sentence.
 Explain how to use punctuate sentences correctly in a
  sentence.

Skill: USING AN VS. A
 A and an are used in front of singular count nouns.
 A count nouns are things that you can counts.
 Example:
    Animal, house, table, building.
    (a) A dog is an animal.
 In (a) dog and animal are singular count nouns.

 Use an in from of words that begin with the vowels a,
    e, i, and o:
   An apartment, an elephant , an idea, an ocean.
   (b) I work in an office.
   (c) Mr. Lee is an old man.
   In ( C ): Notice that an is used because the adjective
    (old) begins with a vowel and comes in front of a
    singular count noun (man).

Using An versus A
 Use an if a word that begins with “u” has a vowel
 sound:
   An uncle, and ugly picture.
 COMPARE:
    (d) I have an uncle.
 Use a if a word that begins with “u” has a /yu/ sound:
    A university, a usual event.
 COMPARE:
    He work at a university.

 In some words that begin with “h” is not pronounced.
 Instead, the word begins with a vowel sound and an is
 used :
   An hour, an honor.
 COMPARE:
    (F)I need an hour to finish my work.
 In most words that begin with “h” is pronounced.
 Use a if the “h” is pronounced.
 COMPARE:
    (g) I live in a house. He lives in a hotel.
