"Recuperando Lo Antiguo started 3 years ago. I have always
loved transforming furniture, adapting it to new and different
ways of using them. I also enjoy working with wood and after
creating many different things, my daughters encouraged me
to create my own webpage. They helped to me edit the
webpage, choose photographs and organize everything while I
was busy with the handcrafting. We take old goods and
furniture and make adjustments and transform them into
modern, warm and cozy items. We design special pieces that
strike the beautiful balance of oldworldly charm and modern
style. "
"If someone had told me 3 years ago that I would be making
jewellery full time, I would have laughed! Jewellery making is
after all, a far cry from investment banking! After quitting my job
in 2013, I was looking for other opportunities. Not wanting to sit
idle, I decided to pick up a Zulu bead weaving book my mom
had gifted me four years ago. When I think about it now, it
almost seems like divine timing! The more I made the jewellery,
the more I knew that there was no turning back. I initially began
by making jewellery for my family and friends. Soon, my sister,
Shriya, saw potential in what I was doing and that is when
Omoya was born. What I love about bead weaving is its
meditative quality. At Omoya, we never cease to wonder how a
modest bunch of beads can be woven into intricate architecture
that stuns and wows."

"Les Poulettes, is the story of two sisters, my sister Victoire and me,
Colombe. Crazy about travelling and meeting people, in August
2014 we decided to open a conceptstore in Nantes. While Victoire
is a hardcore merchant, I am the communicator and the globe trotter
of the project. Designed like an apartment, our shop offers original
items that are fabricated in traditional ways. As entrepreneurs, we're
constantly striving to keep reciprocity at the heart of our business.
Believing that a shopkeeper's job is the best job in the world, we go
the extra mile to please our customers and make them come back
to the shop again and again! We do this by a warm and friendly
welcome, by organizing new events, collaborating with local
designers and developing our own brand ... This is because we
know that tomorrow's business will not at all look like what it is
today. It is only the experience that will always matter."
"After working in the corporate field of content programming for 8
years, I realized I am more creatively inclined and would be
happier making a career in design. So, I joined a design school at
the age of 28 and completely changed my career path. My
struggle did not end after finishing my schooling, as I knew that I
wanted an independent work environment, which is difficult if you
are working for someone. At the same time my husband, Jatin,
was looking for creative & innovative business ideas and we got
talking about design in general and how good design combined
with good typography & illustration can make mundane products
look a lot more interesting. This conversation led to the idea of
Type7. We launched our first designs through our favorite
medium – Paper. Our line of paper stationery is inspired by
nature, food & travel and each design has a story to tell, making it
unique and identifiable."

"I and my husband came back to India after
spending 6 years in the US. This transition
from the US to India made us think how to
keep our two daughters happy and engaged.
Initially we inquired our friends about the
activities in Nasik, but the information that we
received was very limited and unsatisfactory.
Then the self exploration started. I went to
different colonies and began looking for
classes. Within a year or so, I had created a
huge repository of different activities in the
city. One day, I discussed this idea with my
husband if I could start something like
website or web portal/app for finding
classes? As I spent most of my time looking
for them. He said yes and I decided to come
up with Book My Activity. So with the help of
local consultants and team we started
working on this since August, 2015."
"Find my place, an old shop at Sarria
neighborhood with a small yard and a huge
fern with the floor reflecting the art that its
former inhabitants had bestowed upon it.
This place has changed the course of my life
and defined my essence. It has brought me
closer to the world of decoration, painting,
art, photo, design and creativity. It has
inspired and prompted me to experiment,
meet art enthusiasts and connect with this
infinite world of arts. It has also taught me to
see beyond the obvious and to leave in each
project a piece of my soul. These few square
meters transformed over the course of
fifteen years. An industrial place, I try to see
it in its purest form each morning so that I
can admire its beautiful, strong foundation,
and enjoy the surrounding light that lights
me up."

- 7. "It was during my engineering days, when I went for an
internship to Egypt ,that I got my “Eureka!” moment.
Thanks to my dad, I had carried a pair of local
Kolhapuris that served as my room slippers. In a
house full of interns from around the world, this Indian
footwear grabbed all the limelight. Intrigued by the
product, I started my research as soon as I was back
in India. What I found was precisely what I was looking
for. An ancient art waiting for recognition and a
business opportunity that could make a village self
sufficient. Educating the children through our #Adopt a
School campaign and creating an Indian name in the
world of hand crafted shoes, Desi Hangover, today is
proudly a Social Enterprise with the motto of #Sole for
Soul."
"I love saying that happyideas.com is a reflection of
happy ideas for daily life. The idea was born 7 years ago
when there were not many online stores which made
finding of unique gifts very difficult. By means of public
funding for young entrepreneurs I started my own online
store. For this, I needed a name that was easy to
remember, with no web domain hassles (which was not
the case as I had to buy the domain from a guy from
Singapore) and above all, a name that conveyed
positivity. The initial days were not easy at all, I cannot
count the number of hours that I invested for the project.
I even remember stocking products in my own
wardrobes and basement. But more than that, I
remember the hope I fostered and the satisfaction I got
every day as I saw my project grow."

- 8. "At the time we met, back in December 2015, we both
wanted to start an entrepreneurial challenge and we were
looking for our partner in crime to build something useful
for the society. We both agreed that looking for a
photographer was a real pain and that it was possible to do
something here, in order to help people and photographers
at the same time. After more than a year of development,
we decided to quit our jobs and to work full time on our
project, as we truly enjoyed this entrepreneurial
experience. We have been working with the same
enthusiasm since day one. Today, PhotoPresta helps
people and companies find and book online photographers
for their events and projects very easily, & this is possible
because of the efforts of a community of 250+
photographers that is present everywhere in France. And
this is just a start .."

"I’m Javi, DIYer, upcycler, blogger and some more weird stuff
that ends with “er”. Everything started when I was in my 20s
and achieved one of my dreams, which was to own a huge
country house. When I opened my new home's door I started
to panic: it did not house anything other than a couch and an
old TV. The echo reverberated throughout the house and I was
mortgaged for life. That same day, accidentally, a bunch of
furniture appeared just in front of me. A fleeting thought of
carrying it crossed my mind but I felt ashamed to do so. But
once I realized I was not doing anything inappropriate, I took all
the furniture and came back home. Out of those wooden
pieces I created a new piece of furniture for my entrance and
that was paradoxically the gate to a new lifestyle: reusing what
others throw away. I thought it would be useful to share what I
was doing with other people like me and this was how
Yonolotiraria was born."
