2. Unit 7 Lesson 1 In this lesson, you will view a PowerPoint presentation on poetry terms. You can print off the PowerPoint slides to keep as a reference as you work through this unit. To analyze a poem’s design – the reader will focus on the form, rhetoric, syntax, and vocabulary displayed in the poem that is being read.

4. Unit 7 Lessons – check your understanding You will be taking a short assessment to demonstrate your understanding of material covered in these lessons. Remember that out of is a preposition. Suddenly is an adverb that is used as an introductory adverb phrase. An appositive renames the subject – you will find an appositive is normally set off with commas. Sam, in the brown shirt, is my best friend. In the brown shirt is the appositive (set off in commas).
