12. What is a Widget? What is a widget? A portable, stand alone piece of digital content, or mini-application. Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools (clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather etc), games, or provide other content. Typical widgets may include buttons, dialog boxes, pop-up windows, selection boxes, windows, toggle switches and forms .
