4. Party Sequence. Dissolves and cross fades create the illusion of a party, where drinking and drugs are involved. Cross fades, blurs and slow motion convey this. Close up and low angle shots show the character’s state, highlighting the effect that the alcohol and drugs have. The combination of mise en scene, editing and sound to create an effective party sequence. Obscure angles such as the birds eye view shot represent the party and the drinking activities of the character’s.
5. Conveying dominance , peer pressure and a negative influence. Our narrative includes themes of peer pressure and have implied this in our product a number of ways. High/ Low angles Point of view Costume Height levels Medium long shot (alone) Speech/tone of voice
6. Ending scene – the narrative continues but as the shots change the desperation of the narrative becomes clearer. Reaction shots and shot reverse shots. Low angle shots. High angle shots. Close up shots. Mid Shots.
7. Magazine Film Review . Screen shots from film Sophisticated lay out Bright colours make text stand out Details of the film and rating make it appear much more professional Summary of film.
8. Audience feedback “ Good choice of music, it helps the story to flow.” “ The editing is really good, when it shows how drunk they are at the party” “ The narrative moved too quickly” “ The camera work worked really well” Based on our audience feedback we would keep the music the same as it contributed to the effect of the piece, but however we would make the narrative clearer and easier to follow by making the distinction between scenes much clearer.

Relevant lyrics, “kids” MGMT Shots to set the scene, introducing a college environment. Within the shots props relate to students and their lifestyles (books, football, smoking, laughing with each other.)
Editing – The dissolves of two clips within each other represent how the characters are becoming intoxicated through the use of alcohol and drugs. Close ups and zooms are also used within the sequence reinforce the characters state of mind. Sound – The use of the song by Chase and Status adds to the party atmosphere as it speeds up the atmosphere and how the characters are becoming drunk and disorderly. By making the songs diegetic it added to the party atmosphere, and by placing sounds of laughter over the music it adds to the atmosphere we were trying to achieve. Mise en Scene – This contributed to the affect of the piece, as the clothing the characters wore and the props they used were typical of teenager behaviour. Eg Katie’s blazer represents a masculine dominance along with her fierce hair cut. Special Effects -
Working closely with our genre, following representation devices Stylised version of a archetype teen.
Reaction Shots/Shot Reverse Shot – Show characters shock and surprise as they realise the consequence of their actions. Low Angle Shots/High Angle Shots – Demonstrates the situation of each character – Looking for Beth by searching upstairs and Beth being sat in the bath obviously weak and drugged up. Mid Shots – Shows the worried glances of the characters towards Beth. Close Up Shots – Emphasises the dramatic effect that the drugs have took upon her. Short takes so urgency.
Screen shots from film – shows the point of view of the characters, appears interesting. Long shots of characters show the different environments that the film is set in. Close up of the characters make them more emotive – give indication of character. Lay out of the magazine is well presented and sophisticated. Texted it based around central quotes and presented in equal columns. Bright colours make the text stand out – use of red also indicates danger and grabs the attention of the reader. Details of the film, and reviews by such news papers and magazines make the review seem much more professional and also gives the film more depth.
