2. INTRODUCTION
Malmø Central Station as generator of flows
Planning of flows
Conflicts between flows - pedestrians and bicycles
Research questions:
Are the different flows of people generated by transport
infrastructure considered when planning and designing
them?
If so, how are the different kinds of flows dealt with when
designing transport infrastructure and planning its
surroundings?
What are the main conflicts encountered and how are
they solved?
3. METHOD
City walk:
in two steps - surroundings and relevant stops
interview with architect
photographs and filming

12. RESULTS
The flows are considered in the planning but there are several
problems:
divided ownership
planning for future/expected flows rather than existing/
real flows
hierarchical planning (car, taxi, bus) of flows
planning of individual flows not their interaction
13. FURTHER RESEARCH
interview people from Malmö Stad and
Trafikverket
investigation of conflict between bikers
and pedestrians in the rest of the city
include policies of Malmö Stad
